Met Office accuracy is just appalling lately. Let's see how they get on today, I very much doubt it's going to be cloudy all afternoon as predicted. Gloriously blue skies currently.

Yesterday afternoon/evening turned out way better than expected. I'd accepted that the rain would take precedence for the remainder of the day, but suddenly it felt like summer. Feels like summer again this morning too. I find that forecasts go in phases of being 'best case scenario' and then 'worst case scenario'. I think atm we're in a 'worst case scenario' phase, so I'm more optimistic about cloudy forecasts for next week.

Looking beautiful outside, feeling even better. Already passed 17c. Seen some cumulus mediocris to my south which is quite interesting, although I'm pretty sure they'll be capped at around 3km.

ChannelThunder So do I, it doesn't look real to me because how high quality the photo is as if it's a movie cover

Properly grim morning 11C with some prettt heavy drizzle now. Absolute awful.

And just in case people think I’m exaggerating, this is how heavy the drizzle is and barely anything on radar….

I’m still living off yesterday’s sun. I drank it in like a camel! Rain bearing clouds seem to be losing power as they come up to Somerset and it’s still dry. Looking forward to some milder weather next week.

sunny_vale Can't they manage the 'accurate scenario' any more? I mean, according to them now it's cloudy while it's gloriously sunny...

2 Lovely Spring mornings in a row? Definitely wouldn't have predicted this a few days ago with how bad the forecasts were! Question is, can we get 2 fully nice DAYs in a row despite both days being predicted to cloud over by noon? My dog is enjoying these conditions as much as me 🌞

KTtom  @SunSean this week will be warm hazy sunshine through Cirrus or Altocumulus at this time of year. The apps always show cloud though.

A real "sucker's fine day" yesterday.

It felt properly like a settled sunny day, and indeed in the evening there was quite a nice red sky after sunset - generally a sign of settled conditions.

Was hoping that the deterioration may have been called off but sadly wasn't to be. Getting seriously gloomy now with a very unsettled and disturbed looking sky, thoroughly wet and miserable afternoon coming up I would guess.

Not sure about the rest of the month. The main "unsettled threat" on the GFS 00z is now a cyclonic E-ly with low pressure over France, replacing the cyclonic W-ly or NW-ly showing last week.

After an ok start to Sunday, we now have a few spots of rain here, 14c.

It was forecast to become showery from 3 oclock this afters, so another Meto fail, in my book.

*Stormforce~beka* I guess it might be ok, yesterday was better than expected.

But this is the 2020s, the cloudiest decade so far since the 60s (I would guess). So any sun would be a bonus...

Yet another grey cloudy day. Rain not far away. Must be the most sunless part of the UK. Last 18 months have been very bad, local farmer has had to re-plough last autumns winter wheat back into the ground and re-plant as the weather has been so bad.

Wade Not sure it would be "arid" if we had experienced normal rainfall for the past 10 months. We have had 10 wet months on the trot, and May could conceivably be an 11th. This is the first time we've had more than 8 wet months on the trot since 1872; it's not normal.

No, that's central southern and south-west England. 😉

Summer8906 "Everything has grown excessively this year and there is no surprise given how much rain has fallen and now temps are higher and the sun is shining, much better than 40C and arid looking landscapes" My eyesight is pretty good, I can't see where I've mentioned that normal rainfall amounts equal to arid landscapes, please don't put words in my mouth.
