Something feels very different about this storm compared to others. It has a different feel to it. The way that the gusts almost have no gap and the way things are getting blown around is slightly unusual for this neck of the woods. The only things this reminds me of is Eunice and that thunderstorm that we had in June 2019/2018 I can’t remember what year but I think the date was 18/19th and it was a Wednesday?

Seems pretty run-of-the-mill in terms of sort of storms we've had over the last few years to me. There are plenty of gaps between the strongest gusts here too. It even almost goes silent for the briefest of moments every couple of mins.

Strange not to see The Needles on there, unless it's not included for this data set.

Come on Isle of Wight, let's get those big gusts recorded 😁

Just had a peak into to the farmers field at the end of our lane,  i don't think 2 out of the 3 power lines should be laid on the floor, i am no expert but i think they should be attached to the pole above 🤷‍♂️

I’m surprised that iow hasn’t seen some 60-70 mph gusts yet

The wind has only just started being noticeable here in the last 10 minutes or so as the rain has just about stopped. Still a while till it peaks here though. Incidentally the temp has just reached 10C for the first time this year.

It certainly sounds like there should be. Needles Old Battery is an (infamously) exposed location that, going by what I can hear outside right now and past experience, I'd expect to be gusting at least to 70 right now

Winds have died down here for now

Is that line of rain starting to organise a bit?

A windy night down in South Devon, but nothing too out of the ordinary although the gusts have picked in the last 30 minutes.

My weather station sits on the tiny red dot in this radar image. Think we had a squall line directly overhead as I think you can see in the radar, recorded 68mph gust.
