Magic Roundabout

Have an unexpected day off due to childinder problems and so far we have made chocolate smartie buns and are now watching Magic Roundabout. It's quite good, with lots of famous voices but I find it a bit strange listening to Kylie teasing Robbie Williams with a sugar lump Going into work briefly to help run some reports but will have little fella so it will only be a fleeting visit. Tonight I will be making another Chocolate tart :o and Peach cake. Hubbie is really enjoying me being pregnant

Well finally manage to persude my naughty computer to re-install the scanner software so finally I have a picture of MiniLoo to show you Today we ventured into the centre of York (don't usually bother with the centre - too busy and expensive to park/eat etc) For once I actually managed to buy something for me A knee length wraparound flared skirt (v trendy for me) and a top from Kookai (sp) Bought little fella "The Magic Roundabout" DVD, then returned home where I went to sleep for an hour

Week Off Work

Yeeeaaaahhhhh, I now have a week off work - as you can imagine, I am rejoicing at this fact! (sorry Matt for rubbing it in somewhat!) Anyway, we have a couple of things planned (as long as its dry) like a visit to Dymchurch, (beach on the Kent coast) a local Farm and Howletts Zoo. We are also planning on getting mini-raven's school shoes and coat ready for 12th September (eeekk!) and collect her new school 'sweat shirt' (bring back the blouse and tie! )Before 7/7 and 21/7 we were also lookin

London Revisited

Well I've booked tickets to try to go down to London again to see my brother and sis-in-lawHopefully this time no one will try to blow themselves (or others) up and we will have a good time :o Little fella is really excited, "did you talk to the train man?, is the train fixed?" I'm thankful he is too young to know the truth, I remember my first trip to London when I was 5 and being evacuated from the Tower of London because of a bomb scare It made me really scared of London for a long while

Strange People...

Why do I attract such strange people? (actually - no - don't answer that!)I went round my mum and dads straight from work yesterday, which involves me having to get a bus from the train station. Anyway, I got on the bus, and some bloke sits next to me with a large bag, he then rests his arm and hand on my thigh and covers this action with his bag! Now, being a girl who doesn't like to make a fuss, I sat, rather shocked on the bus wondering what I could do without making a scene! I just sat the

Scan

Well today was the dreaded scan on my kidney :o Good news is that it's not too bad at the moment. I can't remember the official term but basically it's not got a huge black hole in the middle of it as it used to have.Bad news is that the "pelvis"? area of the kidney is starting to show signs of hydro nephrosis (sp) so they are going to have to keep a close eye on things Plus point was that she had a quick scan of MiniLoo and he was either having a bit of a boogie, thrashing his arms about

Mouth Ulcer Update...

thank you for all the messages since I posted about my mouth ulcer last week. Because nothing much exciting actually happens in my life, I felt it was worthy of another blog entry!!I never did get round to going to the Chemist for the Anbesol (however, I shall stock up on some when I do go to the Chemist) I was planning on taking a walk round there saturday morning, but for those who read my entry entitled 'Sick of the self inflicted kind' will know why I didnt venture into daylight for the da

Busy Weekend

Had a busy weekend, went to the Magna Centre in Sheffield on Saturday.I've never been to Sheffield before and whilst Sheffield itself is a bit industrialised the surrounding countryside is beautiful The Magna Centre is a Science park set inside an old Steel works. It was huge, humongus, massive, you name it, it was huge Inside you go along dark walkways suspended within the old Steel works. It looked like a film set for Ridley Scott and I half expected an Alien to pop up somewhere As littl

Victims

There are victims everywhere, I know. But some people do tend to take it a bit far. Once a victim, always a victim; what a way to live life? No matter what happens, why it happens, when it happens, who causes it - all that matters is that victim status can never be compromised! Very sad... :o

Sick (of The Self Inflicted Kind)

Ummm, as some of you may already know, I had a couple of drinks last night (I did actually only have a couple, however, they were my measures of spirits, rather than the normal pub measures)Well, by the early hours of the morning, I was hanging on to Mr Raven for dear life, after loosing the ability to put one foot infront of the other to go to bed. The poor soul even had to undress me and put my nightie on whilst I lolled about over the bed. After tucking me in, and putting a bucket next to th

Mouth Ulcers

I have a terrible habit (worse when I am worrying about something) where I pick and bite the skin off my lip and inside my cheek (very attractive!)Anyway, the other night (tuesday, I think) I was biting away, and managed to remove half of the skin in my mouth, and now I have what can only be described as a yellow/white ulcer looking thing, around 1cm in diameter. Its grating against my teeth and painful when I talk and eat. I have tried using Bonjella, but that just gets wiped off within minut

Stressed

I know I shouldn't be but I am We have accepted an offer on our house so I should not feel stressed but I do. Whilst it's really good news, it also forces us to look for a new house. Hubbie is looking at a couple of properties tomorrow and has been on the phone asking about other ones he has seen (bit pricy some of them ) I know it's an exciting time but it's also very worrying. I look forward to leaving my job asap but there are so many things to consider, little fella etc Hopefully hubby

Arrrgghhhh...lots To Do!

Well, the last few days have been pretty hectic. After my scan, the solicitor phoned and said that if we wanted we could exchange monday, so yesterday we duly drew out our life's savings....sob! and headed off to sign the papers, etc.....Since then we haven't stopped signing, phoning, writing, etc to all kinds of things. And the reason for this frantic activity? Well, it suddenly dawned on us that if we got a lot of the work done, we could vanish up to Scotland for ten days before we complete.

Gorillas

Well a fairly uneventful weekend, apart from a gorilla walking around Helmsley shaking his bannanas at people Went into Clarks on Saturday with an idea to buying little fella some shoes in the sale - NEVER AGAIN :o They have a children's department with a huge queue and no toys So hence little kids were just wrecking the place Go my results back from my triple test and thankfully I am very low risk - phew !!My brother and his three kids came up to drop off the youngest with my mum. Library Trip....

Well, had a busy day today..... Had mini-raven all to myself this morning as Mr Raven works on Saturday mornings. Mini-raven can, rather scarily do a 54 piece puzzle quicker than me. Took her less than 10 minutes to do it!! Not sure if thats normal or not.... or if I am particulary slow at doing puzzles? (which seems more likely!)Anyway, once Mr Raven came home, we wizzed off to Bluewater as Mini-raven has a 4th Birthday Party to go to tomorrow afternoon. Never bought anything for a little

Truth, Lies And Deception?

Whatever 'truth' is, it's better to uncover it than to bury one's head in the sand. So, who are our friends then? IMO quite simply - those who ask you how we are, and mean it! Those who merely unload all their-own problems (we all have problems) onto anyone prepared to listen, so as only to make themselves feel better, are not friends; they are emotional leeches... :o That said, I think we should still be basically 'trusting' in nature. The vast majority of people are not leeches; to assume that

Mini-roo Hides Again.....

Well I went for my third scan this morning....and it was great!!!Lovely woman, very reassuring and friendly, went through everything she was doing and was just generally a complete contrast to the old bag I saw last time (who, incidentally was also working today, and I could hear her having a go at someone else about something, horrible old cow that she is.....).Anyways, mini-roo did his/her usual trick of hiding deep down (apparently he loves curling up tight as a ball each time they try to sca

Bomb Attacks

I know it might be seen by some as an over-reaction following the 7/7 attacks, and the attempted attacks on London last week, but well - this is what blogs are for - rather than start a thread, I thought it might be best to put how I am feeling in my blog. Basically, since the 7/7 attacks, and the potential bomb attacks thursday last week, that thankfully 'went wrong' I am finding it increasingly difficult to travel on the train to and from work of a day. I could 'recover' from the shock of 7

Time To Be Philosphical, I Think?

Oh well...so that one didn't work out! :o Never mind, no-one can be in control of everything. Today, I have a whole new perspective on life [Yet another one!]: Be happy yourself and you'll attract other happy people. Be obviously neurotic, and you'll attract other obviously neurotic people... It's nobody's fault; it's the way-of-the-world. But attractions between fellow-neurotics can be only superficial, however deeply they may be felt. Sooner-or-later the neuroticism takes over; all that seeme

Sunday

Had a late start for the 2nd time this weekend. I can't lie in bed usually but I felt like I had been pinned to the bed Although I am supposed to be "blooming" I still feel mega tiredWent to see an old friend and her kids today who I have not seen for 6 months. Little fella took great delight in dressing up in their dressing up stuff but had to be Mr Cedible (Mr Incredible) He looked really funny with fake muscles and a big chest Although he would not put the mask on (he's strange about mask

Lovely!

I had half day yesterday from work, which I was really looking forward to (more so than any other time off from work to be honest!) as for the past 2 weeks, I have been covering 4 peoples work loads. Stress, quite simply, wasn't the word! One of my team members has been in Egypt (slightly concerned about him now due to the bomb attacks) 1 has been off for 6 weeks because she is pregnant and suffering badly from the sickness (should be passing soon, fingers crossed!) and the other has been off
