  1. Does anyone happen to have links to model output threads of previous cold events? I’m trying to put together an overview of model behaviour in the run up to cold events. Which one tends to sniff them out first, which ones drop the idea then picks it up again, which ones tend to swing to others late and so forth. Thought I’d ask if anyone had links saved before i go on a deep dive searching for them
  2. Need multi day, multi model support. Catch you all tomorrow AM to see if we get any closer
  3. I see silly season is well and truly here. Think we’d learnt by now not to shout 2010 after one pub run eh (don’t get me wrong I wish it true)
  4. Ah thanks. My brain was looking for “Stratosphere temperature watch” so I couldn’t see it
  5. Is there a stratosphere watch thread like there used to be? I think Chio used to start it every year? Can’t seem to find it. Talk of an earlier Canadian warming
  6. When he sprays and prays the same ramping forecast year after year, he’s bound to be “right” once.
  7. Is the chase on already? Can’t believe it’s that time of year again. Genuine question, is there anything that makes this different to all the early garden paths of previous years? If that can be answered then I’ll join the chase. If there’s nothing that makes it different then I’ll wait for multi day cross model agreement at day 5 before my ears perk up, been stung too many times to start this early.
  8. Some small developments in the Irish Sea moving north east. Maybe a late night surprise later on?
  9. Beautiful sunset on the huge anvil from the Llandrindod Wells storm, 70miles from me. Now that’s darker I can see the lighting from it. I’m too far north west for it but Cheshire area might be in for it later as it travels north east
  10. Anyone with a couple webcam links to the Lincolnshire supercell?
  11. Not thunderstorm related but the is is the most active thread right now. Looks like we have a sting jet? A well defined one too
  12. We have a sting jet, I’m not sure if it will make it to us or take a more northerly route up through Ireland.
  13. The best lightning I’ve ever seen. Including the longest duration strike I’ve ever seen. One last storm before I fly home. FullSizeRender.MOV FullSizeRender.mov
  14. Well I’ve missed out completely on the storms at home but I’m being spoilt whilst in the states
  15. I’m not in the UK at the moment but got this beast heading towards me. Central Florida
  16. Saw this on Facebook, rain pouring through the roof a Costco in Trafford park. FullSizeRender.MOV
  17. Well my train has driven straight into the main NW storm, insane, so dark.
  18. And in typical fashion, I’ve been waiting for a storm or rain even since the start of this event on Friday. Been a bust, now that I’m not home, there’s a storm at home! Don’t feel too sad for me though, I’m on a train to Manchester airport to go to Florida so I’m sure I’ll get my storm fix there.
  19. Southern edge on the west side seems to be re-intensifying as it crosses mid Wales border
