  1. So, is it an MCS or Supercell? It’s definitely a left mover whatever it is. Mad to think it’s home grown too, such a big storm developing over a relatively small land mass.
  2. Saying that, rapid development happening in Brecon Beacons now and seems to be tracking in the right general direction for NW Wales, let’s see if it can survive the trip
  3. I don’t have high hopes for us today, I’m near Llanberis. I don’t know if you remember the absolutely crazy night of storms we had on the 19th October last year, but that came off the Irish Sea, we do better for storms when they develop further south west and track up to us. The set up this weekend i feel is a bit too far east for us this time. But who knows, we are in the warning area after all.
  4. Bust for me today, not even rain so the very dry conditions continue, see what tomorrow brings.
  5. Everything seems too far east for me at the moment. I need stuff to develop a bit further south west for them to drift to NW wales. Enjoy folks, I’ll keep an eye on the radar for my chances
  6. Looks good, feels good out there too. Hot, humid and eerily still at the moment .
  7. Nice building blocks here already over the mountains
  8. It has been extremely local. 15 miles the other side of the mountains to me and they’ve been under the clag
  9. It was a fantastic spell but personally IMBY have done even better this year. Today marks day 31 of hardly a cloud in the sky, not even at night. It’s probably the longest spell of unbroken sunshine I’ve experienced in the UK, or at least that I remember. I of course realise how lucky we’ve been here. The mountains have definitely helped us in this particular spot. On some days I could see the easterly clag being held back by the mountains.
  10. It’s extremely dry here, can’t remember our last rain but it’s currently day 30 of clear blue skies, grass is getting very brown in places
  11. I think it’s day 30 ish now of wall to wall blue skies here, the grass is well and truly browning. Unbelievable weather. I think the mountains do a lot to keep the east cloud from getting here.
  12. Same here, not a cloud or rain for almost a month, it’s definitely out of the ordinary, the ground is so dry. Really great weather though, very comfortable
  13. You’d think we were in different countries reading through the posts here and comparing them to my location. I feel for you who are not in the west. We’ve had glorious sun, no cloud or rain for getting on three weeks now. I’ve been able to leave the sofa on the decking for all of it. Warm in the sun but not too hot. Really has been a superb beginning to summer here. Grass is starting to brown in places though and the soil is cracking
  14. It’s coming down thick and fast again IMG_9065.MOV
  15. The persistent snow has turned to heavy showers now and in-between clearer spells.
  16. Well it was raining when I went to bed, woken up to 4/5 inches with bigger drifts and it’s still snowing heavily
  17. Further east has done well even right down to the coast, the mild boundary is very sharp. I saw a photo from Abergele where the snow was right down to the beach.
  18. Only if the milder boundary recedes far enough south. At the moment I don’t have any precipitation, just wind. The warnings are still there, so the risk is too I suppose. I suspect for my location I won’t know until I wake up tomorrow
  19. The milder air has reached further north than expected. I had a really good start to the day with drifts in the lane. It turned to rain and it’s all gone. I’m at 1000’ASL. Even Snowdon and the surrounding west facing mountains have been washed by rain yet there’s snow on the great orme, madness
  20. I think the mild air got a little bit further north than expected. I was forecast a lot of snow. The day started off really well with good drifts starting to build on the lane, but then it turned to rain and it’s all gone, I was really surprised at that seeing I’m 1000’ASL. A lot has even been washed off Snowdon and the surrounding west facing mountains
  21. I’m about 1000’ASL on the side of Elidyr Fach/Fawr. My house is often on the mountain snow line so we usually do well. The lane was starting to drift over as I was leaving for work so I suspect I won’t be able to drive to the house at the end of the day. Light rain down in Caernarfon though. Hope you get some accumulation later
  22. Blizzard here. Started about 5:am. Hard to get an accurate measure as it’s the fine “blowy about” kind of snow.
