  1. potential. I've missed this word. Come Late February, I'll be sick sore and tired of it.
  2. Talked to a few family members who seemingly not taking much notice of the warnings - reminds me of that scene from Devil wears prada - hurricane blowing outside which is dismissed as a breeze not funny, but evidently how many folk feel in the province.
  3. http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/arpege.php?ech=3&mode=11&map=330
  4. Ophelia now the top story on the BBC news website.
  5. London & the South East will see a mini-heatwave.... Nothing to see here. (assured, if this was about to impact the capital, it would be the BBC's main story)
  6. ? This is Newtownards in the East of Province, where my family is located. Mean wind a lot higher than 29mph.
  7. Yes, in Ireland. Is it the same for Met Office designated red zones?
  8. Was wondering the same thing... i have family in NI, wondering if the kids will/should be in school tomorrow... I hope a red warning will make the decision for them.
  9. Expecting the MetOffice to redesignate NI the same way, soon.
  10. The Met office model obviously does not show the same impact; these advisories are subject to change in any case.
  11. MetOffice has upgraded its advisory for Northern Ireland, now under an Amber alert for wind. Very dangerous times ahead for the province.
  12. Looks as though Miami will escape the worst of the winds .... so what was seen as catastrophic for the city yesterday, looks not so bad today.
  13. In NI until Wednesday - it has rained on and off since I got here last week! Today was humid and wet, tomorrow is to be dry with 16C. Talking to folk here, summer did not return.. tho it never actually arrived at any point this year.
  14. Won't last! Rain on way for South by Wednesday, with pleasant temps returning thereafter,
  15. Really? I mean, will it? Considering the models have led many up the path this summer... i'd consider this just another merry dance. GFS firm. And as we saw back around mid-July - when the GFS op, control and most of its ens suggest the same evolution update after update - it's hard to disregard it.
  16. GEM being championed in the MOD thread this evening - dear oh, summer really must be over!!
  17. No. Summer, this year, has been wondrous in Blighty
  18. to be honest, the GFS Ens are merely showing dry & average temp wise.... I could easily live with that for a couple of weeks.
  19. That is the hope - a cooler than average Autumn would be the ideal... and the recent August update from the Met Office ensemble system fills one with hope. (July 2m Temp Sept - Nov) & (August update 2m Temp Sept - Nov)... certainly edging down.
