  1. Probably being cautious at the moment. The possible cold snap is still around 120 hours away and I have seen a lot change on the models within that timeframe! If it still shows what it is now at 48-72 hours away, they will start mentioning the white stuff
  2. Nick, what are your thoughts on the wind speeds for Oxfordshire tomorrow evening? I'm working till 8pm and I have a 5 mile cycle ride afterwards to get home. Hoping it won't be too bad
  3. Hello Good to see some regulars back for the Winter months! Ooohya beauty, i'll have me some of that! It will downgrade to either rain or dry by then but it's nice to see anyway.
  4. Yeah it felt really chilly this afternoon! What baffles me a bit, is that nobody else apart from us seems to have reported wintry stuff around Oxfordshire today. It didn't last long though, maybe it was a blink and you'll miss it affair.
  5. Will it snow in Carlisle? Sorry mate I couldn't resist Only messing.
  6. That was the weirdest part though. It was coming down like flurries being blown around by the wind. It wasn't hard like hail. unless it was soft graupel stuff being blown about.
  7. Ahh, good to see you again Fergie. You have probably been posting all through the year but I only tend to come on here during Winter Any thoughts on why I saw snow flurries in Oxford at around 1:30pm today? I was on slightly elevated ground of 150m ASL but at 9c, I thought it was too mild to snow! The dew was around 1c though so that could explain it.
  8. I'm miffed by it as well! I as at quite a high location at the time it happened, around 150m ASL. Well, high for Oxford anyway! Haha. It lasted maybe 2 minutes but I'm certain they were flurries as they were blowing about in the wind and no way was it rain. I thought it was way too mild for snow at 9c but the dew point was around 1c so maybe that was enough to produce flurries.
  9. Dude! I remember you you gave us updates last Winter on what food you were eating each evening. Classic stuff
  10. Ello ello ello. To my surprise, we had snow flurries in Oxford at around 1:30pm! I was shocked as I didn't think it was anywhere near cold enough for sleet or snow! My mum did text me this morning and say there were flurries in Leicester. I told her that she must need to go to specsavers as it simply isn't cold enough yet. Well, I had egg on face this afternoon
  11. Well, to my absolute surprise, there were snow flurries here at about 1:30pm! Didn't even think it was that cold yet!
  12. Now you have seen snow in Cardiff... The question now is, WILL IT SNOW IN OXFORD?
  13. That's just the effect of the vodka and coke you have been consuming
  14. Absolutely! Really was a nice cycle ride to work this morning. I'm feeling very summery today, dug the ol sunglasses out too
  15. I know i've had my doubts about whether Glossop is in the Midlands or not, but now i'm starting to wonder if it's even in England
  16. Definitely something to keep an eye on!
  17. Yeah, saying 11c is warm is going a bit too far. It has felt very mild to me today though. Even right now, it's 9:30pm, current temp is around 10c and I can actually walk outside with a t shirt on and it feels comfortable! It's the same every year at this time though for me. My body seems to get used to the cold and as soon as the temp rises above 10c, It feels kinda warm! When the temp is 10c in October time though, it feels cold! Just the body acclimatising I think.
  18. Had some sleet/snow grains at work in Didcot this afternoon! Wasn't expecting any more Wintry Weather this Winter so it was a nice surprise.
  19. Had some sleet showers down here in Oxford this afternoon. I just had a look at the N-W radar and I can see on the precip type radar that there is some snow falling around the Peak District at the moment. Which leads me on to my next question... How many feet of snow has Glossop got now?
  20. *Starts singing Avicii - Wake Me Up* So wake me up when Winter's over... The last week has been SO boring Weather wise. I still can't see another cold spell on the cards between now and March. In my mind, Winter is over now. I think it's in Glossop. That place in the 'Midlands' that seems to get tons of snow.
  21. This is going to be a very very boring 10 days or so Weather wise. I don't like Weather like this really but there is a good side to it. I sometimes cycle a round trip of 22 miles to work and it's a pleasant ride when it's dry with light winds. The Weather watcher part of me would rather see heavy rain or snow though!
  22. Wow haha. I wish i'd have been old enough to remember it would have loved to have seen that much snow. Most snow i've ever seen in person is around 6 inches of level snow. I can't remember when it was exactly, sometime in 2009 I think. Possibly Feb. We had quite a few snow events in the space of a week that kept on being topped up on the lawn. I think it started as an Easterly with snow showers then bands of snow came up from the South East a few times.
  23. Alright Tone, what did Leicester get in that event? I was only 2 and a half years old so I have no memory of it whatsoever. I'm guessing if Cov got 30cm though that Leicester would have had a decent amount?
  24. That warning seems crazy. Ice tonight, yes that looks likely. 1-3cm in some inland areas? No chance. Temps and dew points are widely 2-3c now in inland areas. Unless the PPN sticks around till after dark, can't see any snow falling let alone settling!
