Wow big storm approaching with frequent lightning

Can see some red flashes in the distance. I think it's a few miles West though for a direct hit

My brother said that they  had a thunderstorm at Purley in S London this afternoon. No further details.

Lincolnshire at its finest. I can see lightning looking towards Retford way in the distance. If only 30 miles more east lol

Lightning has died off quickly but impressive skies at dusk for sure.

Not seen any lightning or heard thunder for about 10 minutes now so that could be it. A nice little start for the season though. Confident that this Summer will be a good one

Looks like an exact rinse and repeat of last year....storms weaken as they approach me, fizzle out...and then randomly intensify again exploding into life over Sheffield and Lincoln way...happened so frequently last year and already the same thing again in April 2024

Was good for those just west of Lincoln but typical the thunder and lightning stops before it gets here LOL

Not long had a great storm in Mansfield - frequent thunder and lightning along with hail - followed it back up to warsop

Looking northeast from Warsop towards Retford

Also, anyone eyeing the stuff in the channel? I'm assuming it's gonna die out overtime, but some parts of that line look pretty heavy...

Even in Northamptonshire we could see it. Multiple bright flashes over the horizon of the Nene made it quite special despite the poor frequency of bolts. Hopefully we see more of this in the future ️
