been watch too... looks convective (building as it moves south over something ? )... interesting that it's producing drizzle though )-:

That precip over North Wales appears to be moving south quickly enough to reach Bristol by midnight or soon afterwards.

Further north the precip over Cumbria and North Yorkshire will probably reach areas including the West Country by about 4 am tomorrow morning.

Surface temps don't appear to be low enough right now for those in the north, precip may turn to snow on the back edge of the precip as the temps drop away as the colder air comes in behind the trough. Some elevation will help as well.

just thinking the same....

where we are is around 170 asl and had a heavy sleet shower around an hour ago... if only that lump of cloud was here...! haven't made a snowball in ages - let alone a snowman (-;

back to the lamp-post I guess - tis going to be a long night 'daaan saaaouff'

(-:

It'll depend whether most of us in the West Country actually believe that it'll happen! There's no snow in these parts even in winter, let alone now! :o

:o why thank you

Any snow for me then ;)

I don't know but accordning to the Netweather Extra 5-minute radar, you should already have had some more prolonged snow over the last hour or so,

but signs are the radar's on the blink at the moment.

No lightning on Net Weather and I'm not picking any up either. Too much booze me thinks. No snow at Brammal lane today but some hail though.

Looks like dew points and temps are still both too high over the Yorkshire area, with dew points around 1C and temps between 2-3C so at lower levels it still would probably be of rain. 9.30pm obs show dew points now close to feezing in a lot of places, generally between 0-2C with temps generally about 2-4C in the south, so they still need to drop away a little but they are decreasing slowly.

Just started to snow in Bacup, put the dog out for a wee and it came in covered in snow. Looking at the radar pics we could have more to come.
