A friend of mine here at uni who is from Leicester has that issue as well! He says that it's because of the way his aerial is pointing that he receives West Mids in Leicester! Anyway - Leicester is in the East Mids region, so you'd better post in this!

 Yeh our living room is SKY so thats probably why it's getting East Mids but back room tele is on an aerial on the roof and pointing a different way so that probably explains the West Midlands Today thing.

Just watched News 24 weather report (6.30pm)

Susan Powell I think her name is (?)

And I couldn't believe my eyes, almost no snow anywhere but

the very far SE of Eng. shown for Monday !

Doesn't match what folks are saying/reading on NW .

Hope it changes back later on the BBC .

Looks very good indeed for our area!

Cheers for that, my student loan won't afford me a NW Extra subscription! Should do a student discount!

Just been down to the Tesco's at the bottom of Lenton Boulevard/Park Road, it's pretty cold out! And seeing as I may be heading into "citteh" tonight!

I think they might just have guessed! BBC forecasts have been hopeless at the moment, been ridiculously vague!

Same again on the hour (7pm)

Right enough she says Widespread Snow and the Warning is up.

Not shown like that as yet on the graphic map though.

( they did have the 'falling snow' pretty much all over previously)

No fretting, we're still game on I'm sure.

I love some snow, but shall soon worry for the elderly, infirm and the

animals. I do hope folks will think of their outdoor pets especially.

Cheers,

BL.

I think the BBC are being deliberately confusing to cover their backs. They have articles about the potential for a lot of snow to fall, in addition to the heavy snow warning, but it at the same time, they have almost nothing showing for Sunday night when thay should be. Very poor. Now, where did I put my TV Licence...

I know this is really confusing...BBc YET again have changed there forecast..Which one are we going to believe

A dusting, sleet then rain,10cm,20cm,30cm,1hr of snow,no snow Sunday over the UK,deluge of snow over the UK,

White out,Blizzards conditions,1991,1982,.arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggg

which one...

Sorry shouldn't moan its not the whining thread......but it as been the most frustrating 48hrs for weather I can ever remember

Quick word about BBC forecasts.

Listen to the words rather than looking at the white blobs. The BBC forecasts are saying widespread snow showers but are putting very few graphics on the forecasts due to the uncertainity.

This is no different to what used to happen back in the 80's. I remember at first only 1 snowflake symbol was used which was upgraded to 3 when the day in question arrived.

I heard Darren Bett last night saying "Those winds bringing in cold winds from the east, never a good direction at this time of year."

:cold:

Care to disagree?

I'm slightly worried though...it's cold in this house at the moment, and I don't want to put the heating on too much for fear of extortionate heating bills! That and the elderly being at risk.

Think my current temp is wrong, my weather station is reading 4.6C currently, think it's a bit high. BBC coastal obs has Immingham at 3C, MO obs in my local area are nearer 2/3C.

Honestly though, how did they come up with that? :)

Easy looked at the charts and didn't ramp. Worrying that they're not ramping as the beeb luv to ramp any weather bar dry.

Sorry for the delay and lack of detail.

Here are my current thoughts for Sunday into Monday afternoon.

post-1766-1233436435_thumb.jpg

Just realised I missed E Midlands but these fit under 5-10cm category.

Well, just to start this one off.

Would like to add S.Yorks and Humberside to this to make the area worthwhile?

Let me know if anyone wants me to expand this to a greater area.

Where`s Humberside????

The interesting fact is that both the GFS and ECM have been stubborn for sometime now, and have completely conflicting views on whether the mild sector will hit our shores, and whether it will have any effect. Unfortunately, despite the problems the GFS has had this winter, I would always back it at THIS range. Wintry mix for Lincs, East Midlands, Central Midlands... perhaps even turning to rain for a time. <--- That's what we are looking at from Monday teatime onwards as it stands.. still a small chance of it changing those.. but I back the ECM to reverse next run and agree with the GFS... or perhaps meet in the middle (this scenario would make the event marginal, but still perhaps on the WRONG side of marginal for the areas I just listed.)
