All we've had here so far is the odd few light snow grains in the air.

The upper air is very cold as the humidity is just 63%, but the ground temperature is 3.2C, so too warm still.

Persistent heavy shower here as well although not enough for a covering just yet, radar looks as though a "wash streamer" is setting up

A good dusting here now with the snow still coming down, very good prospects for the next 96-120 hours or so.

The showers should go in the lines I drew.

It's go so dark here now, absolutely throwing it down. Approaching a covering now... will get pictures up within the hour.

Would be bitterly disappointed if I didn't see 15cm's here by the end of the cold snap.

Im using that raintoday radar which gets updated every 15mins.

The temp is still 3c here so it's needs to drop a little bit.

I agree - I'm not all that far away and almost nothing has really fallen, but it has suddenly got darker as if someone's hit a lightswitch!

And the snow is starting to reacquaint itself with Nottingham now!

Really, not even now?

It's snowing quite heavily in Bracebridge Heath at the moment.

we should do soo well! with our area sitting in the middle, the snow will settle better, im guess sheffield could see 20cm with doncaster having 15cm!

look at the radar and you can clearly see snow fall to the north east of Nottingham-namely Newark way. Should make it here a a lighter version and then maybe begin to give Nottingham a covering much earlier than expected!

I can't recall one occassion in my near 18 years of life where Newark has been probably the most favoured location in the entire UK for intensity and frequency of snowfall this afternoon. I'm gunna enjoy it while it lasts.
