Being having moderate snow showers all afternoon, the last one started to lie, Then the wind blew it away lol, This was not forecast. Hopefully a sign of what is yet to come.

Everything turning white now, temp dropped below freezing -0.4°C so it's sticking to all surfaces, quite heavy again now.

Yes definatley snowing heavier now, and everything is indeed turning white. I'm virtually getting what your getting James, as the strong wind is pushing the snow through at a speedy rate.

Blizzards for much of the afternoon, the snow has mostly been fine, but odd bigger flake & hail at times, everything is white outside & the radar looks promising for plenty of showers continuing through the evening. Temp is -1oC

Am i likely to get what Manchester is getting? It is being driven by a strong easterly wind of course?

'THE' massive dark cloud is over me now, its amazing how quickly the light went. The snow appears to be slowly getting heavier, but still a strong wind.

The wind is really helping to create blizzard conditions im guessing. Was it very quick to pass?

Hi,

we had a light coverng before, but it's gone now :) - as usual for Blackpool!

What do you think the chances are for snow on the balmy coast line? :)

Praying for some, not had any snowfall worth mentioning since feb 6 1996! It's a long time...

Stop looking at the radar and look out of the window :) Much more accurate you will find :) They can easily pick up in intensity so don't worry.

I was in Blackpool on that day, my job dictated that i had to be there, at the Grand Hotel i think, was that the worse for 50 odd yrs or something? , all i can remember is that it was treacherous along the front and when i finally got back to Wigan there was no snow here (typical!!!)

It was awesome, and it lasted for a few days. No idea what the weather set up was for such a dumping (I'm not very technical) but I think it came in on a north westerly

Visibility went right down just now and the wind picked up, very tempting to call it blizzard conditions but you would need sustained winds of 30mph or more, it's just a bit gusty.

It was the Metropol that i was at not the Grand (according to the wife :yahoo: )anyway i can remember that it was virtually impossible to keep the car on the car park and it slid towards the sea, but luckily i managed to stop it hitting the fence/barrier)_
