I tried to go to work this morning. Managed to get about a mile to near Keston, Bromley. Car did not want to go anywhere and only just got it turned around and back home.

I'll try later on, but with the weather system moving in, I can't see this getting any better road-wise.

Couldn't care less really. I'm loving this far too much. Think i've regressed to being a 6 year old again! :D

Morning Folks

Well looks like the snow really has come, I've not even got off first base with my travel plans as my flight from Limoges to Stansted has been cancelled, so I can't get back to see the snow. I'm thinking of driving back but there is no point if the M20 and the M2 are closed. Anybody any idea what the latest status is on those motorways..

Cheers

FC

M20 and M2 are both open and OK at the moment. although with more snow forecast this afternoon,no guarantee you'll be able to get back again!

I'm just off to work from Rochester to Maidstone - hope Bluebell Hill is OK!

Just driven from Reading to Ipswich....the M25 was unbeliveable. I never thought I would stand in snow 8 inches deep on the fast lane of the M25, but I did this morning.

Made it to work at Erith from Rochester about an hour ago. Needless to say, if you don't have to go out, then don't. There are plenty of nutty drivers around this morning - so be careful!

17cm here at 7am and still snowing heavily.

This may end up as the heaviest snowfall locally since January 1963 if we get to 22cm or so?

regards

ACB

First ever post having lurked for several years on various weather forums.

I'd been waiting for a 'special' snow event and........

Here in Bromley I estimated we have 10" of level snow.

I will measure officially when light.

The snow continues to fall...

Here are some pictures from 10.30pm approx. last night 9-10cms at that time.

Welcome to Netweather. I'm not too far from you and I have recorded 30cm - one foot of snow which is amazing :)

That's just the starter as we are going to endure the main course in a few hours time :D:D The next band of snow is heading our way from France.

Kids school are all closed. Cars are blocked in and no public transport.

Is it a Croydon school and if so any idea where I can find out about mine?

Just measured 10" deep on patio table.

Still falling and looks like it hasn't stopped

all night.

There was a weather chap on Radio Southern Counties just

now say there will be as much to come again by this evening.

So, looks like an all day job...

Enjoy!

Andy

Some amazing scenes in London and something to be remembered for a long time, well it looks like my 10cm+ forecast for central London was conservative! :whistling:
