Before anyone says 14 inches is out of the question..........Remember, what we have now is part 1 and part 2 later on will give us several inches of snow to add to the 8-9 inches so far

heavy snow again, much bigger flakes now. the latest meto radar image shows another fairly intense area of showers moving into the london area. this is an unbelievable snow event!

Well that pic is around a foot of snow, so if these reports of 10-14inches are true (which im not saying they aren't) then this is truly a memorable event for parts of london, and before the main band has hit which could add another 10cm +?

:D

I'll say 14 inches is out of the question, but only in an immediate context. Right now I wouldn't have though anyone has 14 inches. Maybe down the line, but that sounds like gross exaggeration. I'm assuming the 19 inch measurement in Biggin Hill is the result of drifting too?

Or maybe I'm just bitter...

Just woken up for some reason - it must be over-excitement - and couldn't resist looking out the window, of course. Heavy snow in Brighton. We seem to have our own litle streamer, not sure why. Measured the snow depth on the outisde table at 12cm - and it's still snowing :-)

i agree. i have about 5 inches here in east london, and although south london has seemed to have borne the brunt of the snow, id say 14 inches must be an exaggeration. but id be more than happy to be proved wrong. lets see some pictoral evidence! 14 inches is over a foot, lets not forget!

Regarding the 00z, its hugely encouraging how close it seems to be to the 18z right out to t180, given what a stonking run the 18z was.

Perhaps. Better hide that 14 inch measurement from Strattos before he's sees it!

As I said very carefully, HALFWAY up the wheel (as in, the hub). Which would put it at about 8-9 inches.

There is a next clump of ppn heading into the London area, but, yet again, the bulk of the snowfall looks set for south of the river,

All good for LLWA, we might need to consider airdrops to keep him supplied!

grrr how annoying. Sitting here missing out on all the beast streamers, and then missing out by the tiniest of fractions on the mini streamer. It's just taken on the slightest arc for some reason and is scraping right past me I think.
