HOLY CRAP

The last time I saw those snow depths at low level was back in Feb 1991 and I still had to walk to school in it. Fantastic streamer you've got there and a lot more generated than I initially thought when looking at the synoptics.

yes and still alot off showers comeing off the north sea and still keeping the snow streamer going. then we got the low comeing up from france could give a further 10-15cms thursday has another warning out for 10-15cms aswell :)

As steve said my house is on for the magic 50cms currentley 18 and a bit inches

I have now recorded 30cm - 1 foot of snow :)

Right, it is still snowing heavily which is only the starter.

The main course has yet to arrive. In a few hours time I am confident that 40cm + will be recorded here.

Absolutely fantastic.

I'm really happy for you lot down there (although admittedly jealous too). Just shows what a good potent upper cold pool; slow moving and slackening trough to the south and a conducive gradient and convergence zone - can do for short term massive gains in snow.

Are we expecting more snow like we had yesterday evening/overnight, during the course of today and into the evening?

Here you go, some pics to give an idea of depth.

Just seen a neighbour walk to work, the man is insane, no way I would even attempt to get to central London today.

One is of our garden, the other a dvd on top of a plastic toy bin lid to give you an idea of depth. I've measured and it is about 9 inches / 23 cm's on the path.

Why is it that parts of Sussex, such as Shoreham have had more snow that ourselves. Surely as we are on the far east coast of Kent that we would have got hit :)
