Well done SEerners! Great to see reports of 30cm!!! :)

In some parts of Yorkshire there's about 15cm but here there's just 7 atm with more showers on the way!

amazing scenes here. the last 2/3 hours suddenly saw non-stop, persistent heavy snow/blizzards. there is about 3/4 of a foot here. by far the most snow since feb 91. unbelievable

5 inches with reasonbly heavy snow now! Hope temp doesn't rise too much, now at -1.2.

It wont rise much only to about 0c with the snow helping and then we get the really heavy snow this afternoon/evening.

Tremendous snowfall here, snow seems to have got worse after I went to bed around 2.30. :) As I reported had thundersnow around 1.30 or so.

Snow just fading away now, all eyes to the south east now, as that stuff over NE France edges ever closer. Will it stay as snow though, it looks as though it will to the west of the Meridian but more marginal the more east you are of that. Incredible scenes around London.

Wanted to get up to Biggin Hill but think that is going to be difficult now, with more snowfall to come would expect them to exceed a foot comfortably.

Regards,

Tom.

Morning all

Well, Sutton was a direct hit for the streamer last night :D and we have about 1 foot (!) of level snow with snow still falling.

Currently -1.8c.

Truely amazing. Takes me back to the 70's and 80's. :)

I live about five miles away, not far from racetrack and now getting on for 14 inches and no sign of stopping. Never known a snow event like this ever.

Enjoy what you have folks, not liking thar radar showing ppn over the continent, looks like it could readily turn to sleet/rain within a few hours of touching down over the far south east/essex and suffolk coasts.

France is not as cold as we are here so it will fall entirly of snow maybe with a bit of sleet in centre of London and coasts.

Report from Central London

15-20cm of level snow - drifts of 30-45cm in side streets just off Tottenham Court Road.

This event is threatening to surpass February 1991 for this location - still snowing very hard.

The only thing that amazes me more is that I actually managed to drive to work without a crash!
