Very disappointing here now! The leading front of the shower was RAIN! Now it's snow again, but not a good sign is it? In between the last shower and this the temp has risen to 2 Deg C. Terrible

Looking at this:

http://www.meteox.co.uk/h.aspx?r=&jaar...;soort=loop1uur

(particularly images for 1130 and 1200, it seems there's a big precipitation about to arrive at mid wales - a significant one possibly?

For some reason 1145 shows nothing (a glitch?), but we could be in for one last big drop?

That's probably what we had in barry, a good hour of heavy snow, unfortunately clear skies and sunshine follows it.

Snowing again after a sunny but -2c morning.

And it coming down hard!

started snowing here - light flakes, but cloud cover has darkened the place, and no blue sky. A flurry coming maybe?

Fantastic day here in South Wales! its been snowing on and off heavy since around 10:30pm last night (around that i think). Had a walk in the snow this morning which was around 4 inches deep at the time, at times hard to see as there were blizzard conditions.

The current depth is about 5 inches, in some spots maybe more.

Well done Julian (JACKONE) for saying it would come :D bet you got a good few inches too :D

Having another snow shower now.

Jamie

I thought it had clouded over and wasnt getting warmer, looked outside, SNOWING! Tiny flakes at first but getting bigger! :D:D

Yes some heavy showers developing in the last hour or so and heading NNE. All sorts of snow : big flakes, medium flakes, small flakes, grains, graupel and also some hailstones :D .

So very rare to have a day of sunshine and snow showers :D !

Yep, blue skies and sunshine in NE Bristol, too. Look on the bright side......at least it isn't raining and washing all the snow away, like in some places. :D

Main band of showers have moved thru East wales but clearing more slowly in the west of walesy. Rain /Snow showers will continue to move northwards thru South west England but more scattered. I feel this may allow them to become less of snow except with really heavy ones. As they move towards wales off the Coast of Devon they are likely to be rather pathetic , unless the warm air off the bristol channel peps them up a little. our Main snow event is all over except the shouting for today ( may be alittle better for west wales if they stay as snow )

All eyes now for tomorrow and thursday watching the low develop and intensity of the cold ground and upper 850 temps.

It has potential

Or 3 inches in one hour like we just had, still coming down not as heavy though.

Stopped for the moment, it's cloudy in the west so maybe the chance of a few more showers?

Also it says in your sig the best snowfall since 26th Feb '04, was there a lot of snow then? I'm pretty sure 8th Feb 07 had more snow here than today, but back then it had all melted by 3PM :D

Not really certain where Camborne is to be honest, be more wintry showers are certainly possible for Cornwall this afternoon.

yeah, similar here. Drifts are a bit deeper though, in my back yard anyway.

went to work this morning(courier). Thought that snow that started was only a shower.

Gave up trying to finish my work in a whiteout in North Cornelly, slipping around everywhere.

I thought if it's like that down there, what's it like in Maesteg?

Only just made it home.

absolute nightmare.
