Updated warny rain here, Bed, Herts ..but leaves Suffolk and Essex out, just icy here...Hmm radar saying something different - heavy ppn should be heading this way as well so will keep watching

i cant see it at all. i think you are hoping for a bit too much.

Just steady rain here, no sign of any sleet even. sorry.

Fair enoughs, however I disagree. Im not expecting snow, Im just hoping for it..temps seem a tad cooler with lower dew points across this part of EA so looking promising to me. Obviously being further N helps, ppn is a certainty tho and temps still falling here :hi: We'll see..

Just looked at the lamppost and we seem to have snow - looks pretty wet but definitely there.

Actually massive flakes and settling on cars despite them being very wet from the rain earlier!

Heavy snow in Buckingham. Temp 0.4C, but the lying snow is now rock solid and the tracks dug out on the road have covered completely in 15 minutes.

Amazing what massive changes a small distance makes. How high are you ASL? About 100m here. Still coming down, intensifying each minute too.. Not settling on roads though, too wet I think.

About 50ft

Just stood on the roof didnt make much difference

Why has my snow turned to rain any explanation ?

5 mins up date its back to wet snow

With all the polish and finishing coats, rain runs off car horizontal surfaces except for a very fine film - so snow will settle on that relatively quickly - the ground, unless frozen, has a thicker surface of water and takes longer (grass sticks up so snow settles quite well on it too).

Can only say this really. " Holy Crap" the snow falling here is insane. Was raining up until just after 6 pm then switched to light snow. Now we've just got a complete whiteout, some of the flakes falling are twice the size of 50p pieces. All the major grid roads round here have gone from wet to 1 inch of lying snow in 10mins, and it's still getting heavier. Car was slipping and sliding everywhere on the way back from parents house :)

Just seen on the BBC news page that there may be a snow-storm on the way for tuesday :) Does anyone know if this will happen? Would try and find out myself but I am new to this reading maps thing and dont really know what I am looking for :)

Cheers

(Oh and at the moment in Farnham we have no precip at all :) )

Polish on my car? You must be joking :)

Gone back to very light sleety stuff now.

Still raining in St Albans. Touch of sleet in it, but generally just wet. It's melting the remaining snow cover.

Same here. It's seen off the last of the snow on the bench on the patio...almost to the minute a week since it arrived! Still hanging on to bits of snow on the patio itself and especially on the garden
