If you're south of the M4 towards the se then the area of interest is that clump of precip towards the sw and fringing ne wards towards Wales and the West Midlands this is the cold front and so back edge snow if its going to happen will occur as this clears through. Actually scrub that its an occlusion but anyway thats the area to look out for, lets hope it can retain enough intensity, the heavier the precip the better chances for some snow.

No real need for a "snow watch" thread in the South-East any more, even!

Temps here in Mid Kent are rising fast. Gone up by a couple degrees in the last 2 hours to around 7 Deg C.

Absolutely p1ssisently raining. Time to give this one up!

I just herd the BBC weather calling for maximum temps of 4 or 5 tomorrow. I would hardly call that cold weather, +5 would just scrape rather cold i would have thought.

Snowing moderately, but we're nowhere near into the main event and the night is yet young... hmmm a blizzard could be on the cards at some point.

It's times like this you love your 4x4.

Trouble is, its not the windchill that makes the snow stick to the ground and then stay there, is it?

Have a look at the netweather radar (precip type) - and there is nothing but rain across virtually all the country, except for maybe 20 miles or so in the Yorks area.

Its been raining all day here, an educated guesstimate says at least 25 mm so far, still chucking it down!!

As for snow, the best chance is clearly going to be after 12 midnight and thence through to midday as the cold air undercuts rapidly southwards.

Im expecting nothing here, although we did get 3cms Satuday morning from back edge snow, so you never know but I do think the circumstances were more favourable then. Good luck to all those who lust for snow!

This is based on GFS data and is by no means accurate. Snowing moderately now here in Northants; some big flakes getting blown about a fair bit in the stengthening NE'ly winds.
