Yep, it's dropped to 2.1c now but still holding up, it was 2.1c a good 2 hours ago, went up and coming back down again. It's certainly very strange! :D

Still sitting at 2.3c here and raining... I think I must have a micro-climate around my house.

Which bit of hinckley are you in? I'm near A5 between Longshoot and M69, it is snowing wet snow but snow all the same and getting heavier. Can Hear water dripping on roof from trees, but went out to check and it is snowing.

That`s a suprise.

Here in Chapel End,Nuneaton it`s been Snowing heavily for about hour and a half, wet to start with but now settling on all surfaces.

I must be only about 6 miles or so away from you and i am only moderately high up surley you should get snow soon.

Good luck. :D

The heavier precipitation is now getting into Birmingham, edging slowly northwards, and I think it is starting to pivot now? Either way, I am almost certain to get that heavier stuff! :D

Glad you got your snow Midlanders! Thats half a dozen lots in a week now is it!

Sunday 1/2/09 : Snow showers which became slightly more frequent overnight.

Monday 2/2/09 : Heavy snowfall for about 3 hours during the afternoon.

Thursday 5/2/09 : Early morning snowfall.

Friday 6/2/09 : More early morning snowfall.

Sunday 8/2/09 : Mid afternoon snowfall.

Monday 9/2/09 : Evening heavy snowfall. (Continuing and settling fast despite the ground being saturated!)

Yep, that's half a dozen in my book. :o

Can't remember the last time, if at all when I could count SIX snow events in the space of eight days.

I won't forget this February and its associated weather in a hurry. :)

Phil.

I'm in Earl Shilton just outside of Hinckley - bit odd really as I'm on top of a hill so would expect it to have started snowing here earlier.

Snow in Nuneaton for nearly an hour now, only sticking to my neighbours skylight so far.

Pretty much all day (as far as I can remember) the met office forecast had rain/sleet at 6pm and 9pm and then heavy snow at midnight and 3am, so Im not too shocked by how things are turning out so far.

im 27 and the best snowfalls I can remember were dec 90 (started off as rain like tonight and wasnt forecast to be that severe - but around 12 inches!!), feb 91, feb 94, mar 95, feb 96, nov 96 (freak that was!) .....

I can remember dec 90 as over a foot, and feb 91 being about a foot here, and mar 95 being 6 inches. Feb 94 perhaps 4 inches, possibly as much as 6? But i don't remember feb 96 or nov 96 at all. I have vague memories of being gutted on more than one occasion in the mid-90s after hearing reports of deep snow just to our west or north so maybe that's what it was? i don't know.......

Despite it raining all day, the snow has just about covered everything that had been exposed by the thaw. It's still snowing heavily and the MO radar would suggest that it's well set in.

This is certainly making up for all those winters in recent years with one mild day after another and barely a frost to be seen! :o
