Met Office just Issued a Be Prepared warning for Lincs / Norfolk and Suffolk for possible Heavy Thundery Downpours this afternoon and early evening. I have a feeling this may extend into the North Essex area for later on in the 18z timeframe.

One to watch today

Clouds bubbling up here with different wind direction inflows depending upon the level. Looks like there could be a convergence zone here.

Just perhaps I may see a very weak funnel form! (the needle type!)

Judging by that there seems to be a CZ across the SE too...though this is probably not going to lead to much I feel, forecast this morning was isolated light showers.

Funnel cloud observed about 5 - 10 miles to the West at exactly 13:00 as I was travelling North on the M18 past Thorne. Pulled of the motorway at Goole but cloud was gone - lasted about 2 minutes. Probably N of Doncaster at the time.

First FC of 2009 for me: alas no pics as I was driving on the motorway :-(

Seems the line of showers stretch from you to me!

Most of the showers are to my SW, but it's getting rather dark here once again.

Heavy rain now. It's like a monsoon

Just recording a time lapse with the storm building and pushing through, i had seen a CG strike in the distance, and i think (fingers crossed) the recording would of picked it up, still recording now folks, with another hefty echo pushing into the Humber est on the radar now, it's just left google also know as goole:) area, this could intensify as far as the North bank.

Fingers crossed

Would be interesting to see, you have done really well for storms lately.

Down here, I have had one real storm this year, which lasted about half an hour, thunder heard very faintly on 5 other days but lot's of near misses. Doing much worse than last year.

Not much sign of any great convective potential heading this way any time soon either.

Storm just passing now over Grimsby and heading approx south into Lincolnshire. Very heavy rain and plenty of lightning and crackling thunder.
