I use a Nikon D40 but that might be a bit too pricey, at £300! :o

Risk of a few thundery downpours on Sunday in the West Midlands region otherwise many could see heavy sometimes frequent heavy showers or downpours. B)

Bit of a late post but, hard as it is to believe, im pretty certain I saw my first funnel cloud today B)

Given the fairly un-stormy conditions today I was suprised to say the least! These pics were taken shortly after I started work at around 18:30pm in Stroud, Glos. I have altered the contrast alot so that the shape is discernable but other than that and a crop its untouched.

I spotted it as you see it and shot a couple of pics, then delivered the pizza I was holding since I was outside the guys house. By the time I did that it was beginning to dissipate but I headed to higher ground anayway, alas, nothing more to see. I could definitely see some motion but it was pretty small and far away to clearly see any rotation.

Ive attached a pic that i took from the higher ground of the cell as it moved away. It dropped some heavy rain nearby to me but no thunder/lightning as far as im aware.

Looks damn good to me B)

Was this viewed as you were looking probably South into the Line Convergence that was South of Glouc and below the M4 Corridoor yesterday evening as if so this would ring true to the conditions.

Great Capture none the less

Think you will find unless I am reading it wrong, most if not all, of England and Wales are under a Be Prepared warning.

Am quite surprised as the charts to me dont scream 'this could be bad'

had a pretty heavy downpour around 9:45am, but only lasted a couple of minutes. Was enough to cause large puddles, only 0.5mm registered though

This month has already seen 74% of the average rainfall, so looking good if it continues this way for a month with average rainfall at last!

You know what that means then....they're really not that sure, lol!

So...as I am not yet fully awake lol  ,are we looking at just heavy showers, or something possibly a bit thundery?

Continuous mid-level showers all morning and feeling like autumn 13c yet.

Should get better later today with heavy showers not as we want any more rain like.
