smile.gif Well, the Comma feature is passing south now, so snow will be minimal for central areas for next few hours. The Occl further north is where the real heavy stuff is. Folks up there should be reporting whiteout conditions soon, if not already. The Occl will slowly move south (with the low pressure) and generally sit over central Scotland for next 24 hours.

Aye Monday,

That would be pretty much go along with the forecast which I have just viewed on the BBC 24 programmedrinks.gif

Could be an interesting 24h period from about 3pm todaycold.gif

I think the wind direction is turning a bit more westerly down here now which would drag in that batch of showers currently to the west of Arran.

Not so sure Ross..... well sun shining here now, snow beginning to melt.

Morning guys, these are exciting times !

The snow seems to be coming from all angles. After the 2 to 3 inches from the Easterly on Thursday and the further snow from the front from the North yesterday it's ll eyes to the West/North/west today. We had a light snow shower around 9.30 this morning but the sky has cleared now.

Hope we all do well today/tonight ! rolleyes.gif

Back in the house now after bedding all the cattle can hardly see the steading which is about 50 m away for blowing and falling snow a real blizzard.

High level clouds streaming across Tayside just now and must be about to head across Fife. Its moving down from the North and must be assosiated with the Depression.

Weird, not something we normally see. Hope its a good sign

Plenty of excitement on the forums this morning!

I'm a bit taken aback by the intensity of the low working south. Although I've already got lying snow I'm still jealous of the guys Inverness and north. I'm also cautious about getting excited for this to turn into an event for central and eastern areas. The GFS has been all over the place with the position of the low and even now looking at the ensembles for the east the precipitation is all over the place:

All I will say is, if it comes it will be better than predicted.

Wind increasing now fresh to strong from the SW, conditions deterioating with lots of blowing ground level snow plus heavy falling snow, visibility less than a 100 metres!
