Hi lupiejan,

If you look at the reports of rain they're mostly from London Boroughs or close to the river.

Hopefully with colder air undercutting, the trend should be to snow but cant see more than 1cm at most here, if that!

Regards,

Tom.

Its raining now tom. Maybe the colder air needs a bit longer to mix down (she says hopefully)

Guys- its the Thames thats done this- modified the surface air upwards by around 0.5/1 degree- it ruined our chances of 5 inches the other night by modifying the temp from 0c to 0.5c & its done the same tonight-

It was -4c when I left the car park at wk- now its above freezing-

Ah well- heavy sleet & it will be over soon-

watch as the air dries out A bit - it will turn to snow over the weald of kent....

GL ppl-

Most of the ice on the road, snow on the pavements, houses and grass has been washed off by the rain, I was enjoying watching all the fools wheelspin down my road!!

Just a total shizer...There does seem to be more ppn building behind the 'front' (which just happened to break-up before hitting me), but so light it is yet another shambles for me.

Nice big snow flakes here right now, not too heavy mind you but the front seems to be weakenig almost as quickly as it pepped up at the moment, in the meantime its powering up west of London near Reading instead.

Odd how its raining in Gravsend, I'd suspect it probably has something to do with the wind direction being onshore making it just the wrong side of marginal whilst here we've got land to our north which is keeping it just the rigbt side of marginal.

getting a few flakes now Kold. Funny it feels really warm outside atm.

Guest North Sea Snow Convection

Just tuned into this thread after a nights telly.

I'm now wishing that following a dry frosty day with temps remaining the right side of freezing - that it was just a dry frosty night to come and my 2cms from early Friday which has easily survived several hours of bright winter sunshine on both days wasn't now facing oncoming rain to ruin things!sad.gif

Safe to say I won't be window watching for this!

Night all

I'm crossing my fingers that at 150m and in the middle of the country and with 8 inches lying on the ground, the snow will stay snow for us.

Oh no! I waited patiently all night for that front to come down, and now rain! How disappointing, how funny!

PPN still looks more exciting on the radar than ground level. light-moderate, yet to fill any footprints in the 2 ins we already had. without snow on the ground would be called a dusting. GFS consistently predicted lowest snow totals for this region (1-2mm) which is looking accurate at this stage.
