Temps look marginal at first in London but as soon as the heavier part of the band comes through it will drag down the snow level in an instant so nothing to worry about there.Front plusing down a touch now again, hopefully this just hurries up and reach my location before too much damage is done to the strength of the precip...

Would you say that'll be the case for the extreme SE too? Sorry to be a pain..

Where are all the Norfolk people? The best hit so far in Norwich in the last three days and they have all vanished

I'm from cornwall and have not seen anything like this for over 20 years

My wife and kids arrived from middlesex this afternoon and this a first for them apart from the odd snowstorm that lasted a couple of hours

goodbye MW :(

Evening all

Long time lurker, I thought given the excitement it's time for my first post.

Been snowing here near Danbury for around 10 mins, huge flakes, getting heavier.

Hello from Eves Corner!

Looks like a good 1hr of snow ahead judging by the radar.

Looking at NW radar it should be snowing now but nowt falling :(

regards,

Steve

the PPN may be evaporating in the low dew points before it hits the ground. few more minutes and it'll hit you. (guess - I could definitely be wrong)

Had about another 3cm here under moderate snow.

Anyone noticed how those showers behind the band are really beggining to beef up? More snow later for EA? Norfolk in particular by the look of it.

Fairly large flakes are beginning to settle on the floor, which has an office underneath so is much warmer than normal, but the latest radar is showing the ppn breaking up around me... I can't believe how this keeps happening. The heavier stuff is now re-routing both East and West of me.

If anyone has NW radar, ten put in W112SA and see what I mean!

good good, there is hope then lol. Mind you, your initial temps were much higher than my current ones.

Back down to 3.0ºc now, but apart from last night dropping to -1.1ºc, the rest of the cold period has remained in positive temps.

Let's hope you're right. I'm about a mile away in Bicknacre, flakes are a little smaller but very steady fall at the moment. Should be good sledging tomorrow!!!

Yes I have never seen Snowflakes as big as that in the South of England but witnessed them in the North East in the 78 winter.

Yeah that may well be happening, FWIW northern Thurrock should get the strongest precip region as it slides ESE along the front...still nothing here yet though, the precip core is still about 15 mins away I'd imagine...

Steve,

Just started here in Lee SE12, cold rain and sleet but not panicking yet, no doubt heavier ppn will drag snow down to surface.

Regards,

Tom.
