I think the snow line in this part of the world atm is around 500feet, we have about a 60/40 snow to rain mix.

I think 100 or so feet higher would be snow.

Rain turned to snow here about 30 mins ago... just starting to cover the grass and cars.... Wonder how long it will snow for as radar looks to be fizzling out....

why is it snowing in south and not in the north where it would be colder

I think the armageddon Met Office warnings have gone a bit OTT again though, I suspect it will all have died out by around 9pm, and even that is an optimistic estimate!

Although having said what I just did, it is getting heavier and the flakes are getting bigger.

Teemperature is 2.4C, dew point is 2C. Mostly rain here (hint of a flake or two). What sort of temps are the snow and settling snow falling at ?

Just been out, Smethwick has dustings of snow all over the place and there was some pretty big flakes there.

Back in Halesowen, I see wettish snow. :D

Air Temp: 1.7C

Dew Point: 0.7C (don't think this one's right :D)

Yeah, all snow here now. But as I said earlier, it will struggle to settle if it stays at its current intensity. I suspect it'll intensify further in the next hour or two.

Its got to intensify if most places will see it sticking.

well some very promising reports coming through at the moment, but on the edge of the black country here it is bog standard rain, with the odd flake. :D

The front still has some movement North! It must not go much further!

80/20 in favour of snow here, but ground very wet so doubt it will stick any time soon.

Still rain here with 2c and dew point of -1c - the band appears to be going north of me now and I'm only in the drizzly bit anyway so unless it stops where it is now and intensifies or goes north and migrates south again then I think I've had my lot... :D

My live cam picking up the snow, just give and take when the 500w passive turns on and off, set it to high sensitivity!
