Don't worry too much about the forecast- in a situation like this, they're out of date by the time you see them.

Log on to the 'raintoday' radar and watch where the snow is and the direction in which it's heading.

IMO the precipitation is being pulled by in to S Wales by a developing circulation.

I still think we're (SW Wales) in for several hours of heavy snow.

Although a little slippy, Machynlleth to Gogerddan was ok this morning too.

Shame that the council are only using fish and chip shop salt sellars to grit the roads though...

Still no persistent snow in NE Wales. Looks like it won't get here until after dark now.

A-T - it will get there. It is slowly moving south (has been snowing here since 12:10) and isn't going very far. I would suggest snow for Wrexham from 15:30 (ish!) for quite a while.

What I'm looking at is a little coil of precipitation developing to the south of the Llyn. It (may) indicate an area of developing low pressure. The snow we had this morning was from a trough. The snow we look like getting this afternoon looks like it is developing in to its own depression- potentially heavier and longer lasting, especially with all the moisture its picking up from the relitively warm sea.

My concern would be that the snow may go slightly too far south to affect areas too far E of Swansea...

But then, hey, what do I know?

Just to the South of Wales @ 18 GMT

Looking at it on the radar its to the West with precipitation wrapping around it in to Pembroke. The feature is heading South- W Wales most effected

Looks like the forecast is for the northern spread of that low to move due south to affect most of wales - possibly coming to rest in south wales before moving away tomorrow morning - that's the thinking anyway!

N1! I'm sure that's not been forecast?

I reiterate- This is a developing situation and anything can happen!

Just depends whether this low is 'that' low- if you get my (snow)drift.

Personally, I think it's a nowcast situation. Just keep watching that radar...

Very heavy snow here in NE Wales, and it was very heavy this morning here. Have very deep snow and large drifts.

Snow over pembroke looks like hitting swansea in about 1hr and half.

3 or 4 inches - brilliant weather - I'm originally from cardiff myself - always more difficult by the coast to get the temps right!
