What are the chances of any of these showers making it this far inland? Any ideas? I just want more and more!!!!wacko.gif

Those showers in the North seem to be making good progress inland, hope for us lot later on in the night... smile.gif

I never seen anything like it over here John! I have no idea how long its going to take to melt considering there is nothing mild for the next week at least. Plus we have further snow showers to come. Looking very good :D

Yes showers that are due around the Humber area look on course for us later tonight if they penetrate inland far enough.

Meanwhile our dying band of snow is taking more of a wsw track IMO, meaning it is taking forever to clear (which is nice), meaning we are due for a further few hours of mostly light (occasionally moderate) snow unless it dies completely (unlikely). :drinks:

Thats exactly what i was expecting by saturday and now its nearly 16cm now already!

So over 20cm for you ohmy.gif Will be interesting to see how much snow i have on the ground. I keep thinking its going to thaw (that's what years of modern spells does to you :drinks: ) however i can't see much other than the roofs and trees etc.. were you would expect it to!

Showers are likely to push into West Yorkshire/ South Yorkshire, I would be very surprised if they died.

Just been watching the snow sliding off a roof across the road. Nice shiny slate roof and seems to slide rather easily. Nice thud when it hits the floor.

On another note..... Those with Sky TV might want to gently tap the LNB arm if they lose their signal. Forgot all about that happening...lol

Temp of -0.5C and dews of -0.6C. Fine powdery stuff falling atm, giving that nice sparkly touch you get on Christmas cards.. Bliss!!! :D

Just needs another three inches and we'd be getting back to old style winters.

No problem getting home striaght up the hill in 3rd. Main differance no plonkers in front of me so striaght up at a constant speed.

Kids are lucky, no school and are sledging probably in Normy Park....

yep and same here! we could see a total of 30cm if the showers got potent over the next 3 days!

I hate drivers that dont have a clue how to drive in snow! just annoys me sometimes with putting others in danger

It took 10 hours for the snow to stop here, so it is definitely a slow moving band.

Whats all this talk of more snow tomorrow night and Thursday - shall have to check the charts again as I thought it was just showers now.

One unfortunate victim to this cold has been my car, it died on me yesterday on the M1 and I havent been able to get it back as we are snowed in. Its costing me £20 more every day i can't get to it - still am loving this snow though. Went for a walk up the hills today and there were true blizzard conditions up there.

Just been to measure and there is 22cm of level snow in the back garden.

Looks like alot of snow heading into Yorkshire this evening, worried about temp though as its 1.9 and dew point

is 0.6. Hope this improves soon as the 4" we had is thawing rapidly.

Seems to be dropping now mate, I have 1.1C and DP 0.2C. That last shower added another 2 cm's. We now have 9cm's In Osgodby. Hopefully more overnight! Theres some well intense showers on the radar, Hope they head this way!

Any ideas what Leeds can expect, if anything, in the next 24 hours?

Thanks

Well, it's stopped snowing in Lincoln now after really getting going around 3pm

Current temp -0.7C dew -1C and lying snow of around 4cm. I see Metcheck is forecasting significantly milder conditions for next week. Does this match with Netweather's model output discussions?

Still snowing here and not showing any real sign of stopping.

No where near 1981 levels here though.

Encouraging forecast for Thursday from Dan Corbett. Showed the whole of Yorkshire under snow! Heaviest in the east though, with prolonged showers also affecting western areas of the region too.

In other words, we should all see further accumulations during Thursday!

Don't forget to watch the regional forecast in 20 mins!
