I can only back up what Ian has said in that whoever does get the bullseye is probably looking at 15-18hrs over a 36-48hrs period but even across a bigger region we are probably looking at 4-8 inches IMO...and thats across a big chunk of southern England...

I'm willing to bet any money this is how Boxing day 62 evolved...

REALLY pleased with one of my pics, going to send to BBC and see what happens, I think it captures the atmosphere and severity of the snowfall, and it was close to its height... will show you in a minute or too... uploading...

Easing off here now but still sleeting/snowing lightly we've had all the precipitation types today lol. Snow this morning then rain and hail, then sleet which kept flicking between sleet and snow.

Temp. 2.3c DP 2c.

Where abouts is tonights snowfall supposed to be developing/arriving from?

Nothing in Bristol, Filton at the moment, might try and do some revising... or not

or not would be the easiest answer

Nothing here either, temp around freezing and pretty overcast but the threatening clouds seem to have moved off east.

Hi everyone,

As I live on the south coast (Portsmouth) I can share in some of your frustrations - the clouds are getting black here but it's too mild to be anything other than rain (what a surprise!) Our local forecast also shows rain so at least they've got it right.

For those who are experiencing fantastic snowfall, sit back and enjoy. I was lucky enough to visit the north midlands over the new year and it snowed 4 inches in a couple of hours and I was in complete awe so I know how it feels! Trouble is, leaves you wanting more! smile.gif

Looking at the forecasts there is some very lucky people in the east counties of the south west, I just hope it moves further west through the night to north devon.
