Ha Ha. You must be desperately unlucky so far judging by the NW radar.

Just got back in after having to go and rescue the car from the top of the hill where I abandoned it!

That was the most amazing snow I have ever seen - absolutely huge and Soton went from wet to white in less than 10 minutes. Probably lasted about 20 mins and had 2-3 cms. It has really warmed up now though and its turning to slush. Hopefully it gives everyone a chance to get home safely before the next lot: it was chaos going uphill at Woodmill. Quite a lot of blues and twos out and about already.

I have driven in snow in Soton before, but it always disappeared as you drove. This just packed down into ice immediately. Very scary. Please don't go anywhere tomorrow if you can avoid it!

Kate

Extremely so!! Ah ha!

Just looked at the radar then outside.

Look at the meto one and a little bit of blue just builds north of Southampton. And it's snowing lightly again :)

If this keeps coming down til 8ish i'll give another ruler treat ... (or punishment lol.) However you wish to take it.

Anyone else got a ruler treat for me? :)

2 - 3 inches and snowing heavily here near Tadley , north hampsire

Hi freddie I'm in Bramley.

Looking at the radar the edge of this snow band must be not far from the western side of Tadley -- where are you?

lots of white soft hail or is that, maybe, mini snowballs, falling in ashurst [10 miles south of horsham, 12 miles north of worthing]. it is snow, as everything has turned white :-)

Well the South Central England thread is ticking over about 100 times quicker than at any other time this Winter - about time too

Rain and sleet started to turn to snow on my way home and then got to Dibden and all of a sudden it was settling. We've had a good 60-90 minutes of snow here now, although when I went out to take some pictures a little while ago it had turned back to rain, and you could hear it melting off the trees and bushes. Nevertheless this probably ranks as equal the best snow I've seen at just over a massive 1inch/ 2.54cm so I'm pretty happy. Looking at the radar it looks like that band of snow/wintryness is going to pivot away from me soon but Portsmouth may continue for a while longer.

It just goes to show there's no need to panic within the first half hour of rain, and as far as I know there is still uncertainty about who and where the snow will hit hardest. The night is young.

For those lucky enough to have snow, savour it, take piccys and movies, and if you like the model watching side of things, save some of the model outputs so future featureless winters you can look back at today with a smile

There is still loads left to come at us from the channel, this will wrap around & after the snow dying out tonight we should see more tomorrow, from the same band. On Met Monkey they are giving us here potentially getting 20cm of snow...

Isn't it frustrating to be sooooo close.

Looks like once again for Hampshire its Portsmouth that gets the dumping! Unless all changes later.
