Utterly gutted down here in Poole centre of the low, snow to the east west and north. Really believed we would see more than 2 cms in last 24 years. I am convinced ive got more chance of winning the lottery than snow in this area.

i know even more frustrating is that if it was 20-30 miles west we would be under that so dissapointed :(

Hi Skidders! Yeah, was worried about the same - a long night ahead! Latest radar shows quite a twist of the stuff above us on the radar. Looks like it will head almost due south now and give us our first decent ppn of the evening??

On raintoday radar it's started to pivot and move south west. At the moment it looks like it's heading into S.E. Wales, but i suppose as it then moves east/S.E. we should get a direct hit in next hour or 2......maybe!

Yep, don't worry mate plenty will be left when finished with us lol.

Looking at the way the radar is showing the low evolving, I just can't see how we're going to get more than a dusting down here in Bridgwater which is a pity as it's the only time the town ever looks clean!

Really? Well that will take a huge swing round to effect Bristol.

I presume the snow from the north will merge with the system down south overnight and move west.

Not in SW but a friend in Manchester sent me some snow pics from there. I am just wondering if we will get scenes and disruption like this from our snow overnight?!?!

Looks like a nice whiteout there Martyn - we can only pray that the low delivers!

Very very light snow visible only at the lamp post in Bristol (Redland)

Same here. It's so light it's like a bloke with bad dandruff is sat on top the lampost!biggrin.gif

I think the forecast showed the LP on the south coast much more west for this period.

I did say earlier the GFS had pushed it more east / sout east.

All I got was grief from IceBurg..

So IceBurg....more bad news

I was right....further East now.

We at least have a good surface for it when it comes. The small amount of snow we had this afternoon is still there so that's good news. Going to be a nightmare getting away from the lamppost watching!!

The snow tonight is coming from a Low forming over the channel islands, or thats how David Braine had it 7pm, which will push snow up from the south and then pivot over somewhere east of Bristol bringing snow to Dorset, Somerset and Devon as far as West Dartmoor.

We shall see though.
