The GFS PPN charts are useless at this range.. as I think has been said countless times.

The Met have access to much better models than we do, as well as short term ECM and higher res on their own models. So I think follow the Met on this one.

As to where Sky get the forecasts from, no idea.

Probably just best we contain our excitement this time and don't expect anything much :cold: then you never know, it could suprise us nicely! who knows! :cold:

Went for another walk, this time down to the valley and then up, basically starting training for Annapurna - which is handy as its damn cold and icy out!

Anyways, -4.5C at the moment! I can only assume last nights temps were pegged back a little by cloud and wind... no such rubbish tonight!

I believe the 12z has been binned as being rather out on a limb on this one, but I think its fair to say that the breakdown will come from this direction... although I expect to see a hell of a lot of snow off it :drinks:

Yeh, the cold couldnt possibly disappear that quickly!

I'm getting quite used to this now, and could do with a snow top-up!

I wouldnt base anything on 1 member of 1 run in the mid term of the GFS just yet....if it starts showing consistency then perhaps but with the UKMO going against it tonight i wouldnt be so sure of that occuring

Regardless of that....here comes the snow

Yeah, I know! soem of the trees lost the snow today in the sun... but its hardly noticeable and the streams have ice on the edges of them, so I'm going with chilly out...

But more snow would be good to cover the tyre tracks up....

Just noticed theres a "SLIGHT" chance of a flurry overnight in NW Glos as the stuff brewing up in the NE makes its way SW overnight

How long is this cold spell suposed to last in the South? Only reason i ask is because some sites have just updated and give us temps of 9-10c by wednesday next week and S or SW winds?? - Some have said its going to continue for another fortnight but having seen the latest forecasts its only going to last until early next week??
