That's the problem they are not ENE, nor will they be switching to it anytime soon. They're NNE at the mo and unfortunately they won't switch around far enough east to have much of an impact on London at all over this weekends event. That's the reason why London has been downgraded in the last few hours - the direct Easterly kicking in for Sundays precipitation is now not going to happen, it's going to basically stay NE. The snow then clears north and we then get put in a direct Easterly feed but by then it's too late for London - by then the action is dead.

Seriously I can find no more straws to clutch for London now, unless by some miracle a major easterly component kicks in to coincide with the precipitation then we'll just have to make do with a 3 or 4 more cms from Sundays event.

A 2 week snizzly disaster for this neck of the woods looks like finishing in much the same vein.

Track of the low surely looks more SE'ly, no?

South-East Kent misses out again!!!!!!!????? So frustrating.

Location - Eythorne

VERY frustrating, even more so when it looks like the big snow event this weekend will be a repeat of this evening for us

The latest NAE has showers moving into London and the surrounding areas during the early hours. Just waiting for it to update further to show tomorrow evenings snow.

Anything expected in my neck of the wood anytime soon? Been up since 5am, so just wondering if it's worth staying up lamp post watching, or just go to bed and keep everything crossed for tomorrow? :D

Lovely too see all the great posts from Ashford, Herne Bay etc. If you have to drive, please be careful! Thanet Way now closed London bound at Herne Bay due to an accident and I have a horrible feeling this won't be the only one over the weekend :D

East Anglia please! :D

Suffolk is East Anglia imo. Essex is more difficult - I get East Anglia local TV, am classified as East of England by the MetO but here its South East.

Gotta start and begin somewhere I suppose

I think it is marginally - shower time for me! :D

Seems a slight shift westwards - wont take much more to hit us.

Steve, how comes Essex is in the lower tier when Suffolk to the North and Kent to the South get the heaviest snow ? - I could understand if it was clipping the East coasts but the fact G. London gets it suggests otherwise.

(I'm not disagreeing just trying to understand)

Thanks

lol - I must have spaced the wrong place- It looks good for the whole of the SE- but there will be a concentration of more heavier snow- which appears to be in the Se corner of the region-

Medway, NW kent- Poss SE Essex, NW East sussex- ( is there a place?),SE london-

Look at the PPN Accumulation chart at 48 from the NAE- see that cut off region- ( that the 18z NAE )
