with the NW radar - in "large view" is there anyway to keep that view and let it auto-update ?

its just the standard view looks very small on a 1900x1200 monitor

So is this lot pushing NW the start of the main band from france or just some nice shower bands ahead of the main stuff?

Its a trough ahead of the main band and it seems to be pretty active itself. You would expect the main band to be more intense and prolonged too, but guess we'll have to wait and see. It seems odd that many are expecting light snow, considering all the reports of moderate to heavy snow over Germany, Belgium, Holland and France from the band we are expecting, surely if anything it would pep up more with instability over the North Sea?

Could be wishful thinking on my part, but that sometimes happens when they are updating the warnings so it may well change again! Keep everything crossed :)

I dispair!

The Flash warning for heavy snow last night expired at 11am. It's not an upgrade nor downgrade.

Edit: looks like Essex, mid Wales and the Pennines will be included in an Early warning now!

Yes many Reports of Thundersnow around the Clacton area around Midnight, that heavier bit skimmed the Coast here near Maplin Sands and I saw a few flashes offshore around 1230am
