Well I am off to Bucks tomorrow for the day, should be fun. Going to a television show recording, I have never done anything like that before but a friend had tickets, so I thought it might be fun.

A couple of trips to Bristol, one for lunch and hopefully one to a comedy club, we went a few weeks ago and had a brilliant time. I need to take my mums cat to the vets, a trip to the dentist, (long horror story...lol) and a couple of days of work I should imagine.

So hardly rock and roll. :)

What about you? Anything great planned?

Hi Dancing Daisy and Cashy. It is very quiet this evening.Yes hooray it's half term .I'm trying to fight off a sore throat and headache(our class have been coughing sneezing and vomiting over one another) .I think it's just me winding down tbh .

I'm hoping to visit friends and take the children out as well as join in the forums here.I might research some weather stations too.

What are you up to Cushy next week?

Well it wasn't too bad out on the playground lunchtime -but bad enough.

Current temp 1.9c.

As weather is going to be dry (boo hoo), heading down to Cashy's neck of the woods tomorrow for a couple of days. So Cashy - look out for harassed mother with three children walking SW coast path!

Fingers crossed for Tuesday then? Wil be back by then so no chance of being stranded on A30 over Bodmin anyway!

Thank goodness it's half term - no alarms!!

Evening Cashy.

Gosh, it really does get quiet on here when there's no snow around!!!

Maybe there'll be more activity on here next week, if we get some of "the white stuff" that is!

Will it?... Won't it?... :D

copied this from SE forum - check out the last line! Could it come true?

Becoming increasingly confident now that after Monday the snowiest spell of

the winter is about to hit the UK with widespread lowland snow.

The benign cold spell will start to withdraw on Sunday as the high

retrogresses allowing a much colder airmass originating from sub 492 DAM air

near the pole to flood south with sub 522DAM thickness and falling pressure.

Three things will aid snow development:

1. South moving air increasing absolute vorticity forcing ascent and falling

pressure.

2. Decreasing stability forcing convection

3. Northerly jet streak propagating south from Iceland forcing mass ascent

of air on its cold side (over UK).

I have kept quiet till now wanting to see how this was likely to pan out but

now it is becoming clearer when the serious snow will arrive - from Monday

onwards for about a week. Get those snow shovels ready, nobody will be

immune, even lowland coastal SW areas

Would be pretty awesome if it did!!...

I might pop over to the Model Output Discussion thread in a minute to see what the consensus is on the 18z model output!

The ski jacket might have to come back out the cupboard again then! :D

Won't believe it 'til I hear it from the points west weather gods. biggrin.gif

Quantock girl> That A30 just goes on and on and on doesn't it. Traffic jams on there can be spent people watching though, which is ace! biggrin.gif

Edit> Just watched Dickie online, no mention of snow other than the odd flurry.

On a much more serious note; What is it with weathermen and brown suits and blue shirts? It is wrong on all levels! Brown suits and white shirts, yes. Black suits and blue shirts, yes. I want to see a weatherman in a black suit, pink shirt and purple tie...in touch with his feminine side... biggrin.gif

You see I become distracted by bad dress sense and don't pay attention to the forecast. Have they never heard of colour wheels?

Well, I've just had a look at the Points West forecast online and Mr. Angwin said sleet or snow or Tuesday with heavy showers after, some of which could be snow...

So there's hope yet!

Temp has risen to 2.2°c here...

Taking my memories to bed. Good night all. Catch up after the weekend when the snow starts to fall (note the rather weak connection to weather here)whistling.gif

Yep... A bit of a disappointment...

I'm going to wait and see what they forecast at the end of the weekend... Still time for subtle changes to make a difference!

However, I feel like I'm running out of straws to clutch!! pardon.gif
