that's an interesting little idea - I do have a facebook page but

the boys on here were thinking we should have "Wales/cymru" should have it's own service

may be I can start an unofficial service for Wales off

we have a facebook group

but I can web design too

so maybe I can get a wales weather service started with a brand new website

covering not just the snow but all the weather we get here in wales in a much more detailed way

I think that's the most expensive bit of a resort - I've heard lifts can be around a quarter of a million pounds or more - maybe I could ask the welsh assembly for a grant!!!!!!!!!!!!! - on the back of the fact that sking is great exercise and will get the obese problem under control

Sounds a damn good idea.

I'm thinking of getting a weather station with rain gauge and all the gubbings etc.

Maybe if others have them they could feed into the site with up to date weather info throughout Wales.

Still not coming to much here in Merthyr at the moment

Even the light snow is sticking here easily, should start piling up nicely when the heavier stuff hits.

Where about are you Barb? Up on Dowlais Top?

Thanks Blackjack - I will consider this idea seriuosly - I think we need a little help in this dept for Wales - I know Derek trys his best and certainly they do a fair job - but he's linked with the met office and they (I think) are not that bothered about us in Wales (just like the BBC) - maybe I could get a grant for this too - so that we can be more detailed about forecasts in Wales - leave it with me

Very little chance of decent accumulations here now, snow too light and it'll soon be turning to rain soon looking at the models.

Snowing like hell in town now.

I've added anyone interested in this setting up a welsh only weather service as friends to my profile - anyone else that is interested - please let me know - I'll seriously look into this - I can't guarantee the outcome - but it'd be lovely to be able to go somewhere on the net and reliably see a weather service that takes care of our lovely country

I think we've got a few more hours of snow yet Barb especially in the valleys

that'll be Merthyr then Blackjack

On radar Barb the front does seem to have heavy precip in the west and heavy precip in the east into england and then sort of in the middle it is a little lighter
