Maybe also premature, but since I saw this:   http://www.simnet.is...ke/tremoren.htm     I thought this might be even more interesting:    http://www.webcamsma...am/heklavolcano

Hey everyone, just a quick one- I know I am being VERY premature, but I thought Id share this katla webcam i found! I have added it to my favourites to keep a check on her as well as my numberous checks on the IMO website for earthquake activity. here is the link:

http://www.123-cam.c...ww.ruv.is/katla

ya never know!!!! lol!!!pardon.gif

Looks very lovely that webcam now that Spring is bringing a green tinge to Iceland at last. Tremors rising again on the charts but I do stress they are tiny tremors when compared with the eruption. Still any upward rise can only be good.

There doesn't seem to be all that much snow on Hekla's summit, which is surprising. Also it's nice to actually be able to see the summit, it's normally covered in cloud apparently.

It looks really seious now. Anyone know if this is a normal pattern or is it really serious?

What looks really serious?

Looks like we have some hot steam, but not much else going on right now. Clear views today.

Some interesting quakes in new locations though today, seismic related probably but interesting. And a deep one under Eyja.

Interesting too see the Icelanders are having problems with ash blowing around.

With no real rain round here it probably also explains why my car keeps getting covered in dust. Mostly I suspect it's grit from winter that hasn't been washed away plus a very wincy bit of volcanic ash as well.

A staggeringly beautiful full orange moon just above the horizon here. I wonder if that's the ash causing the lovely colour — very unusual for this time of the year.

Which is why floodwarn put both cameras together on same page so they can both be watched without flicking from one cam to another.

Plus all the seismic info

Hekla and Katla cams both on the Katla volcano page from the main volcano page.

Will be adding a full hurricane page with lots of information by end of tomorrow for those liking hurricanes and with a huge season forecast.

A good steam plume showing now on the Thorolfsfelli cam and also steam showing at the top of the lava flow. She isn't asleep quite yet.

A good amount of steam showing down along the glacier now and really good heat signatures showing up. Wondering if there has been a fresh flow of lava.

Now waiting to see the plume if the clouds will clear. last night it was considerably higher than recent days.

Yes, it's a pity it's cloudy this morning. I also noticed that, compared with the last few days, the steam and heat signature were considerably larger yesterday evening. Maybe something is brewing?

Nope no sign of Katla waking up I'm afraid at the present time. The old boy is sleeping happily.

yep your right! katla is not stirring yet! im just curious about the increase in quake activity and what effect that might have on eyjaf and maybe katla! katla is in a deep sleep atm so it may take alot more quake activity to wake her up, if she does indeed wake up at all.
