First offical frosts outside Scotland at Great Dun Fell and Woodford.

You would expect a frost hollow such as Woodford etc to record an air frost around this time of year under calm conditions but its the only time I can recall GDF been the first. Just shows how cool this air is.

GDF was down to -0.4C with wind gusting 34mph at 0500.

Good ole Roger Brugge, I often look at his weather summaries etc.

A minimum of only 4c here today but that's my coldest for a long time.

Has a ground frost last night with 1.1c however i think tonight may be a slight air frost with it already down to 4.7c and feeling quite cold.

I spoke to my neighbour this morning who said he had to scrape that car at 8am. Most local weather stations were stating 4C lows but I'm about 75m higher than those. I really need to get a weather station rigged up here.

The first ground frost of the season here last night but there's no chance of an air frost until next month at the earliest.

Could be going for the second air frost of autumn late summer here now. August and Now tonight seems plausible considering its currently 4.1 degrees. Ground frost is a dead cert I would say.
