Wednesday night into Thursday could deliver a little something for the members here who live on higher ground.

Rain/sleet for lower ground.

Fed up with this now. Can't wait for Summer. :)

Looks like a cold night finally tonight after last night's disappointment.

-1.1C at 18:00, could of hit minus 5 last night, but the cloud had to roll in and spoil it.

After a mostly cloudy day it's completely clear now, hopefully -4C/-5C tonight, as predicted by the GFS.

I'll also update my forecast later.

Possibley some interst for some wintry weather thursday with PM air incursion for a time with alot of ppn present... more interesing or worrying depending how you look at it is the steep pressure gradiant later thursday and friday with severe gales widespread with meto and gfs showing gusts 70-75mph for cumbria and other parts of nw england, and i expect land gales would cause some problems aswell.

any upgrades in wind speeds would see storm force winds occuring. the models seem pretty agreed on a stormy spell of weather later this week.

Missed out on some overnight snow - 15 miles too far west, Sedbergh though awoke to a light dusting..

Another very cold day, maximum of 2 degrees under raw cloudy skies - it did feel very brrr...

Its a cloudy evening again, though temps will hover below freezing so another air frost.

Looking ahead to this week, thursday holds some interest for us here in Cumbria, especially places with some height - intense convection off the Irish Sea looks likely with some very cold uppers moving in - look at the long draw westerly all the way from Arctic Canada - expecting some very heavy snow showers or longer spells of snow for the high ground and where precipitation is particularly heavy evaporative cooling will take hold which could mean some temporary snow cover down to quite low levels..

Dianne on North West tonight had temperatures of 0C with rain.

Dewpoints will also be fairly low, so there may be some snow for a time?

I was wondering about that myself, it is still extremely cold outside, the ground is frozen solid as are the ponds, I cannot see this falling as rain to begin with.

Lets hope

I think it's nailed on that you'll get snow at 1,000ft ASL. :p

As for me, the temperature is rising here now. Up to 1.0C from 0.4C earlier.

It got down to 0.0C here at 7pm yesterday evening but after that temps and dewpoints were on the rise. Lowest temp and dewpoint here during the night was 1.5 c at midnight with a dewpoint of -1.8C. It started to rain here just after 2am and continued till about 6am. So just rain rain rain.
