14th onwards looks absolutely fantastic. If those charts came off, December wouldn't even be classed as severe. December would be nothing compared to what is being shown at the moment.

and the models are now showing a return to cold in about a weeks time :whistling: ooh i love grandparents

Yes but the cold is coming from the other direction being the NE/E not from the W. Too far out to be anything more than a possibility yet as well.

Cloudy, sunny, then cloudy again. It's turned quite windy and there are some interesting cloud formations floating around.

It has nothing to do with lows coming over from the US though...

Big band of rain moving in. Wind picking up and barometer falling quickly. Think I best get the dogs walked now instead of later.

Are we going back into the freezer? I hope so!

And just like that, the models have turned a very severe spell of cold into Atlantic dominated crap.

I really do think we will have to wait until next winter to see some snow.

Scottish Highlands are getting absolutely battered atm. Blizzard condtions up there.

oooo I liked that wind.

Hopefully this time no one will be hurt. It seems likely to be as bad, or even worse for parts.

West coasts look likely to see the most damaging winds, so don't worry.

Stay safe indeed. But at least it's better than cloudy and mild.

On a positive note, it looks like my area will miss out completely on the rain. Everything is further North and nothing is making it across the Welsh Mountains at the moment. :):D

I've just had to go to the post, and it's lashing it down. I have an umbrella though, but it's in the car. The car is parked outside the post office.

I'm soaked.

get home and get a brew.

That's what happens when you go the post office during a storm.

Been outside with my anomometer 64.7mph max gust with a 42.4mph max average, Cumbrian coast is a good place to be if you like stormy weather.. :)

Will die down later this evening before the next period of gales tomorrow develops.

God, hi Stephen, not seen you in ages.

Gusting here also, nothing special though. Around 35mph. I will do an accurate measurement with both my anomometers later.

I wouldn't say it will die down mate. The wind will still be moderate.
