It's either horrible little treasures, car lights or lightning... but I'm pretty sure I have just seen a flash or two of something pretty amazing,,,, Yup, there's the thunder :D I am pretty excited and might do a little dance... this is looking pretty spectacular... and the lightning is intense. Purple :D

Very Humid late evening at 19.3C, and good elavation on these storms, so if any decide to come this way they should be decent :whistling:

Here's hoping eh...

not quite sure whats happening (as usual!) - the precip seems to be hurtling north across the country, but the instability moving up much more slowly across the south coast, so it looks like everything is decaying when it tracks north - maybe thats the nose of the plume streaming ahead, which coincided with a trough while over the channel, and now the trough, moving slower is destabilising the atmosphere now the plumes in place. Certainly some explosive cells going up over the far south!

Talk of supercells over this weekend with wind profiles the way they are - is making for some gripping radar watching -

Good luck everyone! :)

Sam

nothing here this far north, usually miss out on thunder/lightning, just always boring crappy rain, not sure if elevation has an effect, only 103m

Pitch Black to My S/SW now with a slight green hue on the edge it seems. :D

Evening Luke and all......Just got back from working in Bromsgrove..Upon leaving Bromsgrove I looked at the sky and went "hmm....lot of thickening Ac Cas up there"....stopped for a quick cuppa at Frankley Services, looked south towards the Malvern Hills and thought "Bloody hell, I can't the Malvern Hills as it's gone pitch black in that direction, and those Ac Cas are now big Cb's and we have a good old elevated storm brewing up....yippee!!!"

I then get back home, check the radar for what's coming my eway, and promptly celebrate with a vintage Carlsberg Export at the sight that greets me...It only goes to show that Carlsberg don't do thunderstorms, but if they did, they'd look just like what's heading my way!....:D

Thanks for reporting in guys...

Good stuff. Sorta confirms that the cells are giving thunder down there...

The stuff coming into the bay of biscay as the moment is HUGE!

I swear one of the cells is like the size of Cornwall.

Good sign that theres plenty of stuff down there ready to get here :)

Severe thunderstorm just passing to the north now, had torrential rain and gusty winds with fork lightning about every 30-40 sec at one point.
