Nice feature moving into South Wales. Looking like a squall-line feature beginning to form on the frontal edge or a bow-echo reflection.

When do you think we'll start seeing these things become actual thunderstorms?

I can't believe the rain the amount of it! Have no idea what happened to these thunderstorms?

Roads around here having been rivers for hours, with a lot of mistyness around...

Currently 16.2c with heavy rain nonono.gif

Solid moderate bodering on heavy rain for the last hour, currently got 8.2mm from this lot tonight, no thunder though, still think they'll be brown patches in the grass tommorrow although less so than yesterday, but a dry week expected here so the dry feel generally continues!:drinks:

Won't be for a good few hours at least before the front is crossing over Central England. I'm half-tempted to set the alarm for 3am and get at least some kip, but i'm flicking between the weather and Family Guy at the minute lol. But 3am earliest for Midlanders/those in the North, with southern parts getting the front sooner due to the axis orientation.

Who says they will become storms? Its quite unlikely anything will get going now imo. Not impossible but certainly not worth staying up for.

I'll keep an eye on things around that time, then. :)

I'm just living in hope. Optimism will of course OBVIOUSLY cause this rain to become thundery. :whistling:

I'm holding out hope courtesy of the cold front moving east behind the trough and the fact the MetO have released the flash warning with the word "thunderstorm" - we all know how cautious they are usually! :whistling:

Fingers crossed...

Still got that muggy feel in Braintree its still 16 degrees with 77% humidity. We have had very little rain to mention so far this wekend, yesterday we got a 15 min light shower in the morning at about 6.30am ish and have had a few drops in the air tonight but nothing more so far. Its gotta break sooner or later!!! (Forever the optomist...why do we do this to ourselves!!) :drinks:

I'm going into pessimistic mode now as it seems this CF is doing nothing in terms of storms :cc_confused:

I'd be interested to know why, purely from a learning standpoint - any of those in the know what to shed some light?

Been hammering it down in CMK for three hours now, no lightning or thunder but atleast it's giving the plants and trees a nice drink. :drunk:
