Hello Coast, I need about 2000-3000ft You only seem to be alive and well when theirs storms Mr Harry, what about snow? :D Suns out in London where I am and the clouds are moving away to the north, Whilst a batch of clouds are staying put, I am guessing this is instability?? Certainly looks horrible, and lots of Ac where I am.

Haha! Yeah I have to spread my time so thinly its only when we have real chance of some action I throw everything else to one side and get my backside on here.

I won't be on here tonight though sadly as I'll be enjoy birthday festivities. Won't be around all weekend either as I'll be ooop nuuurth so I'm getting my fill while I can :D

Thanks, yeah its today.

Indeed, we never seem to get the right conditions...the only day this year was 28th June (iirc) when it was 31C with very high humidity and the atmosphere went pop.

Still, fingers crossed for later this evening :D

Oh fantastic, hope you're having a good day :D

But I am liking this storm that's powering up through the channel straight for me, *us* - is that by any chance a MCS? As I am not very familiar with how you categorise it as being so..

No that's not an MCS...within an MCS you have organised, multiple updraughts and downdraughts which for all intents and purposes form one large thunderstorm.

Based on the radar I can only make out one primary updraught. Interesting shape to it though, very 'hook' like.

Looking at the radar and out of the window there is certainly something on it's way. I hope it's just not more rain a054.gif

Fingers crossed Coast :D

The warmth and humidity here is obscene - feels like one of those muggy and overcast July/August days and certainly not early November!

I've had to put a makeshift steady bar onto my office widows as I really want them open as it so stuffy and warm, but the wind is almost breaking them off the hinges!

Note to self - 'it's actually November'

Come to Daddy!

Sounds a rather chipper place you work at their Coast....I mean isn't there employment law protecting "office widows" from having makeshift steady bars stuck to them....shame on you!

Thunder and lightning in Burgess Hill!!!!! :clapping::yahoo:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY....send it my way pleeeeeeeeeease :D

Pardon the pun, but it strikes me that the current conditions could be ripe for nocturnal cooling...very warm and moist temperatures combined with (I'd expect) rapidly falling uppers!! Be interesting to see if nightfall brings with it a heightened incidence of lightning!

Not sure what will happen in North Herts. My eyes are on that area of VERY heavy rain in southern France which will extend northwards over central-eastern England. As many have said, there will be imbedded activity for some, but most of it will be just unusually heavy rain for this time of year!
