Wind-speed at 38mph, max gust 52mph.

When Leeds Bradford airport updates (10 minutes) this should be even higher.

Nearby Met Office weather stations showing 3.6mm per hour!

Well we clocked a gust to 55kt or 63mph at Dublin Airport at 5pm.

Windy evening with driving rain. Is this potential squall likely to develop at the back of the front over Ireland

at the moment yes? Thats what i am thinking anyway.

Its got very windy and gusty here in Oxford. Seems like another windy night and some rain to come along aswell. This must be one of the stormiest winter periods for some time.. any ideas on that?

Regards,Mark.

Gusting here at about 45-50mph — big cold rain drops, getting heavier as the wind strengthens.

Only a breeze here at the moment (compared to yesterday morning), but the rain has hammered down for hour after hour now. A total washout of a day. I would expect a bit more damage tonight from the wind, but only from trees/buildings which were weakened yesterday.

The rain totals from the models seems to be light in comparison to what looks like happening, especially in the South east.

I find it strange that for London the Met O have no rain on the forecast until 6am - oops but to be expected in these sorts of conditions

Mean wind speed here is 38 mph, gusting to 54, just a little nudge upward required to reach gale force.

Continuous moderate rain with it too, which found it's way into every orifice of my, supposedly, waterproof clothing when I was doing the readings at 1800.

There's been a noticeable increase in wind gust down here in south Hampshire, admittedly not in the range you guys further north are experiencing but noticeable all the same...

Very windy here now, gusts around 55mph or so.

Mean wind speeds approaching severe force gale 9 over N Ireland and SW Scotland, pretty windy in many areas as well.

Absolutely peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing down and blowing a gale here and has been since lunchtime and looking at the radar i would suspect that it's far from over yet.

It's been one of the wildest couple of days i've seen for a long time.

Just when you need the radar images they are not updating and haven't done so for over an hour!
