morning guys. well i hope you do get to see something. i'm sure you will. i remember when i lived in swansea we hardly ever got snow, except the blizzard of 1982. a month before that in december 1981 we had 4 hour of heavy snow which later turned to rain, which i think this event will be for you, but at least you should get a good few hours of snow first. enjoy it. your turn is coming too.

What event have we got to look forward to after this?

No obvious snow events within the next week but that could easily change as the models are playing with a wide range of scenarios. FI is T=0 at the moment, T=72 at best as the models can't seem to get a grip of these synoptics. There is reasonable agreement for high pressure to dominate our weather next week so dry but whether we are on the north side of it (so with a westerly influence) or the south side of it (so with an easterly influence) or indeed right under the middle of it is anyone's guess.

Snow just started falling and settling here. Seems to be a little add on just ahead of the main band, but a nice surprise nonetheless.

Oh well, Ffos Las has been cancelled today, the disappointment has already started for me before the front even comes in. Just waiting for the rain to come in now.

Snowing here! still -2.5c

It's settling immediatly as you would expect with such a severe frost last night.

Didn't expect it so early

Just a shower by the looks of the radar.

It's yet to merge with the more powerful cold front behind it, so yes, it's lacking energy to push across at the mo.

It's probably going to stall soon before making some progress.

How is the southeast expecting so much snow from this front? its looking a bit thin and fragmented in places! There is the odd very small flakes blowing in the light breeze here! Still -1C so hope it doesn't change!

Ignore that, hadn't see the post above!!

Is it ahead of schedule? If so does that mean the SW winds are going to come in quicker?

What if something goes wrong and the cold front doesn't happen?

It's a good day for the NetWeather radar!

If you put in on the animation; everything is moving quite steadily west to east and you can see the 'pre-front' snow around the eastern end of the Brecons.

Good luck! Currently looks like SE Wales may do best today.

morning light snow here,do i risk going to cwmbran- cwmbraneira whats it like with you?

Morning. We had a heavy shower which gave a covering. Think you'll be fine. The heavy stuff is not due till 15:00. I wouldn't plan to stay beyond 13:00 to be on the safe side.

Well fore Wales yes. BBC has heavy snow for Cardiff at 3pm before turning to rain. Up the valleys it may stay snow for a while longer but in the end it will turn to rain I expect. My temp is rising fairly quickly mind.

Well then it'd either stall and stay where it is, or we'd have 2 separate, weaker fronts pushing in.

But yes, that won't happen

Few showers are popping out ahead of the front. These should give you guys a general idea of what the leading edge at least will fall as. Higher ground will always have the advantage, above 200m - 250m, I'd bank on a fair bit of snow falling..

Good luck guys. :)
