I can't speak for kids as I don't have any but that sounds like an average night out for my dog.

Glad you found somewhere good.gif

The weather was pretty gloomy and chilly here today but has brightened up a little this evening and the dappled sun looks lovely in the trees of the south downs nearby smile.png

I like the sound of your dog, sounds a proper party animal!

What's your tip QS for a nice sussex pub lunch?

Thanks!

ASi

I've caught the little so and so in my glass on more than one occassion!!

If you get a chance, have a visit here: http://www.horshampub.co.uk/royal-oak-wineham.php

It's only really 20 mins from central Brighton, beautiful place right in the country, good ales and a good atmosphere, plus excellent food. Depends what you like though really. Pretty sure they are child-friendly smile.png

If you need more details drop me a PM so as to avoid going too far off topic (sorry mods) good.gif

Hope everyone's enjoying their well-deserved breaks!! Just need to see the return of some decent sunshine.

We had a dry and fairly sunny afternoon here yesterday.

This, together with a beer festival in my local, means I've seriously overindulged this weekend. No hangover, but time for a period of abstinence methinks!

More lousy weather coming in from mid afternoon will help this.

I think I'm already being punished for something by the total lack of storms round these parts biggrin.png

I'm not sure what it was I did but it must've been verrry bad!!

Well you know what they say, Q: let the punishment fit the crime...acute.gif

Using my scientific method of placing the mouse pointer on the radar screen and seeing how far the rain moves in an hour, I would say 1.30pm, now watch that forecast go all wrongbiggrin.png

Turned out pretty OK yesterday in the end, clear skies but a little chilly. Nice dry BBQ was had by all.

I think we need to keep a close eye on Thursday night and Friday in regards to the un-folding low that at present is going to come ashore.....As mentioned above this could be very nasty...

Both you and JP have posted how awful Thursday/Friday are looking, thank you both for taking time posting charts, I am not confident on doing that and its nice you both keep us all informed.

Watch this space! :o

To me it looks a notable blow for summer, but no worse. The chart implies force 9 winds at sea in the areas of greatest risk ( as I said, notable for summer ) but there's a danger of scaring people unnecessarily. Of course the situation may deteriorate, but caution is needed in stating very nasty etc. Just my opinion.

Agreed s67, looks lively but not damaging, at least not yet.

Rain in brighton started around 1pm today and was gentle for a while but from about 4pm it has been pretty heavy with a strong east/southeast wind. Back home tomorrow for less wind and rain but more altitude, and will be back on the laptop instead of a clunky (alleged) smartphone where I always seem to het thy spelling wrung.

Oops I did it a gin

I found the flypast quite moving, not sure really why, just hit some spots I guess.

Anyway Surrey, thanks for posting the charts.

My comment could be interpreted as being disparaging towards yourself, which I certainly didn't intend. It's more of a wait and see, but no need to worry too much yet, sort of comment really.

Im not sure...I hope to god it is not bad... I really do...The models have been showing it for 2 days now a long way to go yes...But it's all changing all the time and this is by no means confirmed even the models where they want the centre low pressure to be...

Of course it's not going to be bad.

Windy and wet - just a normal British day in winter, except it's June.

It's cool, i took no offence anyway :) I am not alarmed (yet) if Thursday night comes and chart two is still showing and that low is showing on sat 24..and met warnings go up..THEN I can sit back and go..I need to control my language

30-32knot winds

Rtavn484.png

Rtavn664.png

this is just a typical storm you would see in winter

problem is at present if we get strong winds the

ground is saturated (due to our drought wacko.png )

at the moment and could cause some problems for

our trees which are in full leaf now.

the track of this low will keep changing so it could miss

us completely.

Rtavn6611.png

cape is not too high now so it will probably be heavy rain and wind (not stormy)sad.png

Pretty windy here in Brighton this morning, thick cloud, very Autumnal. Tomorrow looks windy and mostly wet, Friday windier still. Could cause a few problems? Certainly would be interesting if camping...

My 11 yr old daughter is off to Snowdonia on Sunday for a week with school, in a hostel not under canvas, and hopefully climbing Snowdon itself. Any views on the Outlook for next week for north Wales?

Thanks!

50/60mph gusts on Friday with heavy rain.

Big deal. Normal British weather!

Although absolutely diabolical for June but there we go.

Cyprus next week for me thank god, hopefully will be summer here when I return.

I think 60 mph gusts inland would be a pretty big deal at this time of year to be honest. Are these the latest thoughts then?

I'll be flying to Barbados in 48 hours, so hoping things are better on my return too. Not thinking about it too much yet, as have major work issues first. Weird really.
