Let's just look forward to what this afternoons potential brings.

Personally, I cannot wait to start radar watching later this afternoon and evening - lets hope this hot spell ends with a big bang!

Yes, I've started watching even now. Definitely a tad optimistic methinks.blush.png

yep me too! and ive started too! perhaps unwise as i will probably kill my phone battery before anything kicks off!

keeping an eye on that decaying front which is close to my sw. my sw looks quite hazy but no idea if thats the heat haze or the front! not much else going on apart from a few random clouds to my east.

i should probably be posting this in the convective thread...

here's the view to my s/sw

Little bit of tall cloud started to bubble up over the estuary - I am also radar watching while I work!

On a deeply unscientific note, the Ants that live under my patio are swarming. - This tends to happen just before a Thundery breakdown, so I'm hoping that they know something I don't...

Hello fellow SE and EA members! Hope you've enjoyed the weather up to now... This evening certainly looks interesting storm wise, and I have hopes of seeing one here! However, from what I've read and seen, it doesn't appear that this evening is the only chance for storms, and there is potential throughout the next few days.

I can see one non threatening cumulus at the moment (still that's more than was here 15 mins ago) As SS has said though, it's all quite hazy to the South / Southwest, so I doubt I could see much, if anything was there, unless very close.

Very hot outside, temperature up to about 25.5 degrees. Really hope to see a thunderstorm tonight, seems like we have a reasonable chance.

Agreed, it seems like wednesday is the day where heavy thundery showers will be the most widespread from what I gather.

Fingers crossed for some storms :)

This is usually a sign that I've left something sugary out.doh.gif I remember finding a trail of ants in my kitchen, after coming home from work, that had come through a gap in my kitchen window, had walked across the worktop and then into a teacup that I'd left out, with sugar in the bottom. I wasn't best pleased! Strangely impressive though!

To add to the above, I'd definitely not want AM to feel initimidated by posting. I like her posts too.

I think it's sometimes difficult for people to convey the way they like their messages to read to others - for instance, sometimes I think when I post (not necessarily here) it could be construed as sarcastic, when I might actually mean the post to be complimentary. It's difficult when all you see is plain text, without seeing whether someone's smiling as they type it etc.

Anyway, back to topic. The cumulus I saw has now vanished. An extremely fair weather cumulus in itself!

I personally reckon I'll hear thunder tonight. Just a hunch.

Very warm out there. Clouds really bubbling up now, air feels stormy.

Hoping to stay dry but I feel there could be something brewing :-(

AM... Seems you have a great fan base on here from fellow storm fans, so much so that you get the nice posts even though you disputed me posting about sunny weather... Oh well.

Maybe if I was a storm lover.........

There's a fair amount of convective cloud here, at the mo. No idea whether it'll spawn anything, though??

Lightning detector indicates something 12 miles or so S/SE of Folkestone (looks dubious though). Also a large shower has developed SE of Calais..

A beautiful morning on the beach at Pevensey Bay, some towers starting to go up to the North and East.
