Looks very thundery around these parts, some very strange mid level undulatus formations and even what looked like mammatus in places, with low bubbly cumulus forming underneath on and off all afternoon, last hour has seen some sporadic large spots of rain starting & stopping also.

Thanks for clearing that one up for me, SJ. I couldn't remember what those clouds were called. We've only drizzle up here, but it does look interesting.

Nothing to report here really, very boring day weather wise as usual search.gif . Had 1 quick heavy shower earlier but it's been dry and partly cloudy since. Sky is starting to get a bit darker now but I'm not expecting anything electrical for the rest of the day.

I could have sworn while driving as a passenger from Blackburn through to bury and prestwich that I saw a very slight funnel cloud. It could have been scud but it was the perfect funnel shape. Also had a heavy downpour with it.

Looks like there could be a lot of rain some SE and central areas of England tonight and tomorrow with the NAE showing 2-3 inches in places.

Here's my take on the situation (map work in progress)

Looks like were stuck with this rainy pattern still. 30+mm for here tomorrow, hoping it's a lil worse than they say, though. Still not happy we missed all the fun from the low a few days ago.

It really was not that fun..I watched a tree fall down at the back of my garden we called them "the big 3" because they all stood as 3 but now theres 2 :(

Aww.. Poor tree :(

It's just we seem to miss most of the bad weather here.. I'd like to see something a lil more interesting for once :p

12z NMM has the heaviest precipitation across London for a time showing intensity increasing as it pivots on it's NW flank, as it does this and start to fizzle out southwards, the heaviest of the precipitation will be SW of London around Surrey to Brighton.

Highest rainfall totals for an area in the South?

I'm going for Farnham to get 78.4mm smile.png

That's what they said about the rain in Wales too before the event...as we know, a lot more than 25-50mm fell!

That was after most of it had fallen, lol...before the heaviest rain began falling it was a 25-50mm warning
