Yep, I'm pleased to say the heaviest part of it went over me! I didn't hear any thunder at all though, but it's the Westernmost "torrential" shower on the radar, so I'm grateful nonetheless. It came as a complete surprise as there was nothing at all on the raintoday radar until it was chucking it down here.

The heaviest rain since August 2010, I think. I'm using the measure as "when the drain overflows and the water level climbs over the kerb and starts flooding into the drive", which is below road level.

Passed here also, got a little dark with some slight rainfall but I was more situated on the outflow so wasn't expecting much anyway. A good treat for whats expected to come tomorrow, sadly no thunder here either.

At the moment!

Im predicting massive super-cells. Golf ball sized hail and even a few tornadoes from those heading for me.

Hi all,

Just to say that we are in Arques, near St Omer in Pas De Calais, we were supposed to have a massive storm from 5pm to 9pm local time, not much in the way of lightning and close thunder. However lots of regular distant rumbles. Already clearer, but maybe more is coming rom what I have seen on my iPad app. Need to edit video on my return and will post it. Seems we got 2.5 inches of rain in about 30 mins going by a pothole in the car park! Hope we get some more of this as it was amazing but brief!

Simon and Sarah.

Very strange developments here on the South Coast.

Just watched a shower move in from the sea, just looked like a normal shower. But as it moved in, you could clearly see the moisture rising from the sea up into the sky. Turned very dark within seconds and only produced some lightish rain.

Was a very strange sight and one that I have never experienced. Its now passed but you can still see moisture type clouds flying by in the sky at very low levels and its become very windy!

Just shows how unstable things still are!

So pleased for the chaps who got storms today!

It's going to be a painful commute home - looking at the dark skies of the immense MCS to our East.

Sun finally out here, although too late me thinks for any last ditch attempt a storms....

Til next time

Driven through the Leeds storm back home to Garforth- M1 was at a standstill near Temple Newsam With a few inches of water on the motorway and a few flashes of lightning too. Can hear it rumbling here in Garforth now and is getting increasingly dark! Woohoo

Timelapse of the mad cloud movements as the East Leeds storm came over us- this is looking east and was a rush job when I got in so sorry for the rain on the window! There's some mad updrafts at the very start- its a free app so resolution is a bit limited- no HD here I'm afraid but hope you enjoy anyway!
