Do you reckon these storms will hold on into the night and overnight or die a sad death once the sun goes down?

Took a punt and headed off on a bit of a chase today. Started out at noon at Wye downs which offers a good panorama and headed off towards Romney Marsh as it looked like something was building over the channel. Ended up adriving from Dymchurch towards Littestone where I parked up and watched a lovely storm dropping numerous Cg's out over the water.

Nice bit of light rain, this year is just going downhill doh.gif It's worse knowing I'm in the East which has had a better year than the West! I just hope July/August will be good. Sorry about the negativity, well done to those who've seen something today and for those who will, enjoy!

Love the way the sferics seem to just curve their way around the south-east like the UK has just farted.

I can hear thunder in the distance, but theres a layer of low level murk so it just looks overcast. The radar suggests a storm to the west over the Gilberdyke/Market Weighton area and another just about to hit Lincoln which is heading in this direction.

Theres nothing to see though due to that murk.

Its very humid mind you, currently 17.4C with a dewpoint of 17.0C. Feels pretty sticky despite not being too warm

Proper hammering it down here in Bridgwater , Somerset. Not expecting any thunder though, but local weather forecast on bbc said may be an odd rumble or two .

Oh hello..something cropping up to the south of Buxton, better get out and have a look ASAP.

Yep, I'm pleased to say the heaviest part of it went over me! I didn't hear any thunder at all though, but it's the Westernmost "torrential" shower on the radar, so I'm grateful nonetheless. It came as a complete surprise as there was nothing at all on the raintoday radar until it was chucking it down here.

The heaviest rain since August 2010, I think. I'm using the measure as "when the drain overflows and the water level climbs over the kerb and starts flooding into the drive", which is below road level.

Thanks multi cell.

Reef me and dell are positioned at Paul, what would you do, should we wait for the Lincoln one or head west towards gilberdyke.

If it heads towards hedon we might end up there.

Wind direction has changed over the past hour here. Was a ese now more Sse.

Lewis

Cheers

Lewis

Convection around here at the moment in the clearing skies.
